My First Print Publication!

Supplies:
Paper: American Crafts, Jillibean Soup, Scenic Route, Pink Paislee
Transparencies: Hambly Screen Prints
Chipboard Letters: American Crafts
Rub-On: Lily Bee
Stickers: Pink Paislee
Pearls: Kaisercraft
Ribbon: Bazzill
Thread: Iris
Ink: Clearsnap

I made this layout for a gift for my sister.  The sweet baby in the photo is my youngest nephew Moshe.  I just love to watch babies sleep.  Unfortunately, I have only held this sweet baby boy once during a quick visit home last summer.  By the time I see him again he will be almost a year old!  They grow up so fast!

I'm always looking for new ways to use my scrapbook supplies. To make the banner I cut the negative from my sheet of Pink Paislee banner stickers and filled the white space with patterned paper.

Here is my layout in the March issue of Scrapbook Trends!  It feels totally amazing to see this page that I love so much in print alongside work from so many of my favorite designers!

It's All Worth It

Supplies:
Overlay: Hambly Screen Prints
Chipboard: Chatterbox
Alcohol Ink: Ranger
Paint: Zig
Miscellaneous: Cardstock

I had some fun with my alcohol ink creating this card.  I added drops of ink to my cardstock and quickly blew the ink across my cardstock using a straw.  I love the colorful background I was able to make without the aid of blending tools!

I created this layout for Guest Designer Debbie's Clash of Hearts Challenge.  Our task was to find an item from our stash that we were not fond of, alter it, and use it on a layout.  To say that I disliked the Prima die-cut paper I used would be a lie, LOL. I love the colors and pattern, especially the decorative edges, but didn't like that the paper was 12x12. I thought it would be fun to use it on my layout as a base for my photos, rather than my page. I cut the paper in 4 and pieced together a smaller version of the paper. I also added some Stickles accents. I'm super excited that it's almost berry season again! I really love going berry picking.

I created this layout for Nadine's playing card element challenge. Prima's February BAP was perfect for this challenge as I decided to use a heart.  The beautiful flowers in the photo were given to me by my loving husband for our anniversary last month.  The red fabric I used to accent the heart was part of the packaing the roses came in!

I created this layout for Krystle's paper folding challenge.  I folded paper strips together into small mats for a fun base for my page.  I tucked some journaling into the envelope about how I hope my girls will remember the good times they had together as children when they are older.

Artsy Girl - Scrap Attack Sketch Challenge

Supplies:
Paper: Glitz Design, Karen Foster
Chipboard: GCD Studios
Flowers: Prima, Petaloo
Leaves: Recollections
Felt: Queen & Company
Butterfly: Prima
Ink: Clearsnap
Sketch: JJ Sobey

I created this page for the current Sketch Challenge at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. Talented {SAS}sy design team member JJ Sobey also creates sketches for the {SAS}sy Sketch Challenge each month.  Stop by the message board to see JJ's sketch and member interpretations! As a reminder, all scrappers who complete the minimum amount of {SAS}sy challenges per month are eligible to win a coupon good for an additional 10% off all purchases from the SAS Store! The {SAS}sy Team would love to see how you interpret this challenge and how you are inspired by any of our other monthly challenges, which include ad, color, scrapbook play, journaling, croppy cat and our new stash challenge. Happy scrapping!

I LOVE mixing paper from different manufacturers and finding new ways to use themed papers. I found this beautiful piece of Karen Foster paper in the {SAS}sy Clearance Rack. I LOVE the soccer net pattern on this paper and I didn't let the fact that I don't know anyone who plays soccer stop me from buying it, LOL! I really like the shade of blue and the small yellow accents and black border. This paper looks like I spent time painting it, and because of the pattern, has a lot of depth. The Glitz Designs Scarlett Collection looks great with this paper and for only $0.17, this Karen Foster paper is a steal!

Supplies:
Tag: Avery
Floral Print Napkins: Amscan
Multi-Medium: Ranger
Ink: Clearsnap
Letter Stickers: K & Company
Butterfly: Prima
Ribbon: Details

Step One: Gather supplies.

Step Two: Cut flowers from napkin. If your napkins are more than one sheet thick, use only the top patterned layer for this tag.

Step Three: Apply a generous layer of multi-medium to the tag.

Step Four: Starting from the top of the tag, arrange the cut flowers on the tag, slightly overlapping each piece, until the entire tag is covered. Any overhanging pieces will be trimmed in a subsequent step.

Step Five: Apply a generous layer of multi-medium to the tag and allow to dry.

Step Six: Flip the tag over and trim any excess pieces of napkin so that all pieces are flush with the edge of the tag.
Step Seven: Ink the edges of the tag and embellish. I added a sentiment, butterfly and ribbon.

This tag is the perfect accompaniment to a box of chocolates, small gift or bouquet of flowers. Add a small love note to the back of the tag to brighten someone's day!

Happiness - Scrap Attack Color Challenge

Supplies:
Paper: Basic Grey, Pink Paislee
Chipboard: Maya Road
Rub-on: Basic Grey
Felt: Queen & Co.
Ribbon: Webster's Pages
Flowers, Pearls, Rhinestones: Prima
Leaves: Recollections

I created this layout for this month's Color My World Challenge at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. The challenge was to use the colors black, green and yellow. I LOVE this color combination! The photo of Claire was taken at her fourth birthday party back in October and I wanted to scrap this photo in a fresh new way, rather than the fall colors I had used previously.  I'm very please with the result.

As a reminder, all scrappers who complete the minimum amount of {SAS}sy challenges per month are eligible to win a coupon good for an additional 10% off all purchases from the SAS Store! The {SAS}sy Team would love to see how you interpret this challenge and how you are inspired by any of our other monthly challenges, which include ad, scrapbook play, sketches, journaling, croppy cat and our new stash challenges. Happy scrapping!

Ribbon Wreath

Supplies:
Poly Foam Wreath
Miscellaneous Ribbon  (200 Five-Inch Pieces (30 yards))
Greening Pins

As soon as I saw Charlene Driggs' ribbon wreath on the May Arts Blog back in September, I knew I wanted one for my home. Using Charlene's instructions, this wreath was both easy and fun to create and the end result is beautiful.  The most difficult part of this process for me was choosing my ribbon colors.  I created this wreath for a Christmas decoration for my home, and living in Florida, I do not experience the snow and ice that decorates the typical winter landscape.  I wanted to create something fresh and vibrant to celebrate my non-traditional winter so I decided on bright color palette.  I packed up all of my Christmas decorations weeks ago, but decided to leave this wreath hanging on my wall.  I think the colors are also perfect for spring, something I could use a little of right now.

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking February Reveal!

I am super excited about the February {SAS}sy Kit from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking! The colors in this kit are my favorites to scrap. The mix of embellishments are really fun and include Petaloo, Prima and Tim Holtz! Based around the Scrap Within Reach Georgia Rain Collection, this is one of my favorite {SAS}sy kits to date! With supporting papers from Basic Grey, Fancy Pants, Little Yellow Bicycle and Pink Paislee, this kit has something for everyone! The February Kit debuts on February 2nd and is a limited release. Once these beauties are gone, they're gone for good. You won't want to miss out on this kit.

I was so happy to find this photo of my nephew! The colors in the photo were perfect for this kit. I wish I could reach through the page and pinch his cute little cheeks!

When I saw the gorgeous Petaloo flowers and the Basic Grey patterned paper I immediately thought heritage page. This is an old family photo from my husband's side of the family. I love seeing photographs of the Grandparents as children.

I couldn't scrap one nephew and not the other, LOL. I cut the snowflakes from the back of the Pink Paislee resist paper and the blue scallop border is from the Basic Grey Doily paper.

Mother nature was not being kind to me when I needed rain for this photo, so I have to confess that this puddle was Mom-made. Claire didn't mind one little bit! I added some dimension to this page by cutting out some of the umbrellas and re-attaching them to my page with pop dots.

My girls where so happy to be able to play in the rain for the first time! I cut the raindrops from the SWR "April Showers" cardstock for petals to make my flowers.

My basset hound Scamp is usually at my feet when I'm scrapping so I finally took the hint, LOL. I used the new Tim Holtz Timeworks Masks as stencils to cut my own gears to coordinate with the gears that come with the kit.

This is actually me in the photo! When I look at the girl next to me I'm not surprised that my ballet career was short lived, LOL. I took my inspiration for my page design from the ballet studio decor. Sometimes I miss the 80s.

This is my favorite recent photo of Claire that was taken at her birthday party in October. I wanted to try to use the Tim Holtz gears in a feminie way and thought they made cute flower centers.

Please see my {SAS}sy Design Gallery for a full list of supplies used on each layout.

I hope you enjoy my layouts and consider purchasing this fabulous kit!
At a sale price of only $27.49, this kit is a steal!

Noodle Straps - {SAS}sy Scrapbook Play

Supplies:
Paper: GCD Studios
Letters: American Crafts
Flowers: Petaloo, Prima
Cork: Pink Paislee
Pen: Zig
Miscellaneous: Red Flowers

Who says there are rules in scrapbooking? The Scrapbook Play Challenges at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking will help you "cut loose" and open your eyes to all the rules you follow, consciously or not. Life is made up of little moments. Recording these little moments is what makes a scrapbook complete. We often record major milestones, but the little ones sometimes are overlooked. For this month's challenge, create a page about a quirky quotation, a funny mispronunciation or a humorous mishap. My daughter Claire recently performed in her first dance recital. We needed to buy a black u-back leotard with spaghetti straps. Claire informed me that she needed to wear a leotard with "noodle straps." I couldn't help but laugh at that. This is something I don't want to forget!

As a reminder, all scrappers who complete the minimum amount of {SAS}sy challenges per month are eligible to win a coupon good for an additional 10% off all purchases from the SAS Store! The {SAS}sy Team would love to see how you interpret this challenge and how you are inspired by any of our other monthly challenges, which include ad, color, sketches, journaling, croppy cat and our new stash challenges. Happy scrapping!
