Embellishments made of wire are becoming more and more popular. I love the appearance of many wire embellishments, but I sometimes want a more feminine look for my projects. Using wire as a frame for my embellishment gave it the strength I was looking for, while the netting and thread helped to soften the look.
Step One: Cut a piece of beading wire to length and bend into a heart.
Step Two: Apply adhesive to the wire and gently press a piece of netting onto the heart. Let dry.
Step Three: Flip the heart over. Apply adhesive to the wire and gently press a piece of netting onto the heart, carefully lining up the pattern to match the piece of netting on the front of the heart. Let dry.
Step Four: Trim any overhanging netting from the outside of the heart. Using a needle and thread, wrap thread around the heart until the wire is covered. Note: Adding thread to the heart is a great way to add a pop of color, but the thread also covers the sharp edges where the wire was cut.
