Ready To Hope ATC Tutorial - SNR Magazine

I love to paint, but I'm not skilled enough to draw or paint my own designs. By using a photograph from a magazine as a base for my piece, I was able to achieve a hand-painted look for my altered trading card.

Supplies:
Magazine Photo
ATC base
Embellishments
Paint
Gesso
Multi-medium
Marker
Paintbrush
Scissors

Step One: Cover the ATC base with multi-medium and add the magazine photo. Once dry, trim any overhanging edges.

Step Two: Mix up a solution of gesso and water and paint over the image. Note: Test the gesso solution on a scrap piece of magazine print to be sure that the solution is not so thick that it completely covers the image.

Step Three: Once the gesso has dried, outline the image with a marker. Note: These lines will be a guide for painting and can be as simple or detailed as you like.

Step Four: Paint the image. Add embellishments and text to finish.

Bright & Early ATC - Your Memories Here

Supplies:
Paper: Prima
Chipboard: Prima
Cotton Tape: Prima
Resist Canvas: Prima
Flower Center: Prima
Stamp: Prima
Embossing Powder: American Crafts
Ink: Martha Stewart, Ranger, Tsukineko
Mist: Tattered Angels
Other: Staples, Twine

I had a lot of fun creating this ATC for Your Memories Here Designs!  My photos left me uninspired this week, but I'm still loving the Prima Almanac Collection so I decided to make an altered trading card with my favorite supplies, no photo required.

The "Agenda" patterned paper from the Prima Almanac collection has a wonderful selection of notecards that make great bases for ATCs.

I was excited to try out some new purchases, a couple of Prima's clear stamps and cotton tape.  The cotton tape is without design so I used some ink and a new stamp to add a fun print.

Prima's cotton tape is available in three different colors and widths.  The tape has adhesive on the back which makes it really easy to add to projects.  After cutting a small piece of cotton tape from the roll, I peeled back and cut a small portion of the backing on each end of the tape to hold it secure to my work surface while I stamped my design.

Here is what my piece of tape looked like after stamping.  I liked the black and cream for the this project, but it would be fun to add color after stamping.

To build my ATC I first filled the white space on my card with a Prima stamp and embossing powder.  I then added color with Distress Ink, Distress Stain and Tattered Angels Mist.  Once my base was dry, I added cotton tape, resist canvas, chipboard, a flower center, twine and designs I cut from the Almanac patterned papers.  If you haven't tired creating ATCs, they're really fun, a great way to use up smaller pieces of paper and embellishments, and also the perfect size to try a new technique.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy scrapping!

Brother - Momenta D-Lite

Momenta Supplies:
Paper: Vacation Pyramid Pad - PA-2389
Puffy Messages: Forever Family - ST-4791
Letter Stickers: FTBM 12x12 Super Paper Pad - PA-2263
Rhinestones: Back Country Embellishment Collection

Other Supplies:
Twine

I had a lot of fun creating this layout featuring one of my nephews.  I used supplies from 4 different Momenta collections for this page! I just love how the supplies work together so well and it feels good to use up some of the leftovers from other collections.  This map print is my new favorite and I thought it was really cool that I was able to mark the location this photo was taken on the map!

I really love the Puffy Messages!  These stickers add dimension and fun texture to projects.

I decided to embellish my banner with stars that I cut from patterned paper and rhinestones for a little bit of shine.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out the Momenta Blog for more inspiration!

It's time again to tell Momenta your thoughts by participating in their surveys! Momenta has two surveys this month, both with the chance to win $50 cash! Winners for each survey will be announced on April 30th!

Cherished Moments - Your Memories Here

Supplies:
Paper: Prima
Journaling Card: Prima
Flowers: Prima
Chipboard: Prima
Resist Canvas: Prima
Stickers: Prima
Vintage Trinkets: Prima
Rhinestones: Prima
Packaging: Prima
Distress Stain: Ranger
Other: Twine

I'm sharing another layout I created with the gorgeous Prima Almanac collection for Your Memories Here Designs.  I decided to go with a neutral color palette for this page and added some metallic accents for a bit of shine.  The bottom layers on this layout are Prima Packaging, which work great as base layers, not only for the great designs, but it can hold heavier embellishments better than paper, adding some support to a layout.  I added adhesive foam between several of my layers so that I could tuck embellishments between papers.  I also used adhesive foam to curve the piano keys for some added dimension.  I love the movement the raised keys add to my page!

I used Distress Stain in Vintage Photo to color my piece of resist canvas.

I love all of the Vintage Trinkets add add them to my projects when I can.  I like to softness this cloudy gem adds to my page.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to visit the Your Memories Here Store for all your Prima needs!

    Today - Your Memories Here

    Supplies:
    Paper: Prima
    Flowers: Prima
    Chipboard: Prima
    Trinkets: Prima
    Wood Button: Prima
    Pearls: Melissa Frances
    Distress Paint: Ranger
    Sketch: Prima April BAP
    Other: Twine, Staples

It's Friday, which means I get to share my project for Your Memories Here Designs!  I'm officially in love with Prima's Almanac Collection!  The pink and cream is perfectly balanced with black and brown, making this collection perfect for feminine layouts with a bit of an edge.

There are several sheets in this collection that include fun designs that are perfect to cut out and use as embellishments.  The tag letters are my favorite.  I also cut the title block, butterflies and journaling tag from the papers.

I had a lot of fun making this small banner.  The Wood Buttons and Vintage Trinkets made great charms.  All the black pennants were cut from a piece of Prima packaging!  With sayings like "so happy," "cherished moments" and "memories with you," the pennants are a great way to add extra detail to your projects.

I placed a piece of adhesive foam between these two butterflies and added a thin coat of Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint for some fun texture.  Be sure to stop by the Your Memories Here Store for all your Prima needs!

    Flower

    Supplies:
Paper: 7 Dots Studio, Hambly Screen Prints
    Flowers: Prima
    Stickers: 7 Dots Studio
    Chipboard: Dusty Attic
    Stamps: Heartfelt Creations, Studio G
    Ink: Ranger, Tsukineko
    Song Lyrics: Chris Cornell

I created this layout for the Dark Challenge at C'est Magnifique.  The challenge was to use a dark background, black, navy, dark brown or dark gray, for a layout or card.  My scrap desk is covered in pastel papers for spring, so it was fun to take a break and use some dark colors.

I stamped the leaves onto the back of a piece of patterned paper from Hambly Screen Prints.  The A-Side of the paper featured a gold flourish design that didn't work for this page, but I loved the specks of gold on the paper, so just flipped the paper and stamped on the back.  The gorgeous Prima blooms came in my Prima Floral Grab Bag from Your Memories Here.

I'm frequently inspired by song lyrics and used some from Chris Cornell's "Sun Shower," changing the pronouns to personalize the words for this page; All my graces will some day flower in a sweet sun shower.
