Stickers: Pink Paislee
Brads: My Mind's Eye
Thread: Iris
Stickles: Ranger

I created this layout for Your Memories Here Designs using the Pink Paislee Declaration collection and one of my favorite photos from last July.  I had a lot of fun cutting designs from the papers and embellishing the "flowers" with thread, Stickles, paint and brads.  The stickers helped round out my page.  This Declaration kit made putting together this layout a snap!

Be sure to stop by the Your Memories Here Store and visit the Pink Paislee section. Also available are the Nantucket, Spring Jubilee, Indigo Bleu and London Market collections! If you're running low on embellishments from the last Prima release, there are still Winter Grab Bags available in 3 different sizes in the YMH Store.

Got Treats? - Momenta D-Lite

Momenta Supplies:
Dogs Simple Perfect Page Kit - PK-1977
Other Supplies:
Ribbon: Basic Grey

When I saw this super cute dog-themed Momenta page kit, I immediately thought of my brother's sweet dog Tobias.  I miss my brother and his family, but I miss this little guy too!  I had a lot of fun piecing together a background scene with clouds, a tree, grass and a sun.  I'd like to think that Tobias thinks of me sometimes, but I'm pretty sure treats are at the forefront of his mind.  Thanks for stopping by today!  Stop by the Momenta blog for more inspiration.

This weekend kicks off the official launch of The Art Studio. A dozen classes are now available for purchase and as you will see, there are plenty more coming your way. Head on over to The Art Studio and check out the other fantastic classes you can take, including scrapbooking, digital scrapbooking, cards and stamping, mixed media, altered art, home décor and more. 2 of You - Your Memories Here

Supplies:
Paper: Pink Paislee
Letters: Pink Paislee
Ephemera: Pink Paislee
Flowers: Manor House Creations
Pearls: Kaisercraft
Leaves: Prima
Stencil: The Crafters Workshop
Modeling Paste: Blick
Ink: Ranger
Other: Doily, Baby's Breath

I created this layout for Your Memories Here Designs using the Pink Paislee London Market collection and some Manor House Creations flowers from my stash.  I just love the soft romantic papers in this line!

I used a stencil and some modeling paste to add a layer of texture to the base of my page. I then colored it with some Distress Inks.

Several pieces from the London Market Ephemera Pack were the perfect size to tuck into my flower clusters.

Be sure to stop by the Your Memories Here Store and visit the Pink Paislee section. Also available are the Nantucket, Spring Jubilee, Indigo Bleu and Declarations collections! If you're running low on embellishments from the last Prima release, there are still Winter Grab Bags available in 3 different sizes in the YMH Store.

Tee Time Clipboard - Moxxie

This Father's Day, the Dads in my family looked forward to spending some time on the golf course. My husband and his fellow golfers can get quite competitive, so I thought I would surprise him with an altered clipboard to hold his scorecard during his next round of golf.

Supplies:
One sheet of Tee Off (HIO-1295) Patterned Paper
Ribbon
Twine
Pencil
Ink
Adhesive
Scissors

Step One: Cut a piece of twine and tie one end to the clipboard and one end to the pencil. Next, cut a small piece of ribbon, wrap it around the pencil, and glue to the ends of the ribbon to the front and back of the clipboard. Pull the ends of the ribbon taunt around the pencil while the glue is drying to ensure the loop of ribbon holds the pencil snugly against the clipboard. Note: The ribbon loop alone is strong enough to hold the pencil securely, but the twine guarantees that the pencil stays with the clipboard.

Step Two: Cut a section of paper from the Tee Off sheet slightly larger than the clipboard and glue to the front of the clipboard.

Step Three: Trim the overhanging paper from the edges of the clipboard. Lightly ink the edges of the clipboard. Cut two small pieces of ribbon and tie around the clip at the top of the board.

After the game, surprise your favorite golfer with some tee-time cupcakes!

The Hole in One Cardstock Stickers (HIO-2226) make great cupcake toppers. Just adhere stickers to a toothpick, back with cardstock and add to cupcakes adorned with green sanding sugar.

The mini putting greens and sand traps are a fun treat for the 19th hole! Thanks for stopping by today! Check out the Moxxie Blog for more inspiration.

Woodgrain Frame Tutorial - SNR Magazine

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Webster's Pages
Canvas Paper: Strathmore
Overlay: Hambly Screen Prints
Letters: Pink Paislee, Glitz Design
Chipboard: Kiki Art
Notecard: Prima
Paint: Creative Inspirations Paint
Gesso: Delta
Embossing Folder: Sizzix
Other: Cuttlebug, Twine

I created this tutorial and layout for the Creative Inspirations Paint sponsored event at Scrapbook News and Review Magazine last year.  One of my favorite patterns is woodgrain! I have a collection of woodgrain patterned papers and letters, but I do not have any woodgrain frames. I thought it would be fun to make my own woodgrain frame from canvas paper, a woodgrain embossing folder and paint. I love the texture of this frame and the wonderful shimmer added by the Creative Inspirations paints.

Supplies:
Embossing machine
Woodgrain embossing folder
Canvas paper
Gesso
Paint
Paintbrush
Scissors
Tape

Step One: Emboss a piece of canvas paper using a woodgrain embossing folder and an embossing machine.

Step Two: Using a paintbrush, cover the embossed paper with a light coat of gesso.

Step Three: Paint the paper with the colors of your choice. Note: I first painted the flat areas of my paper using my lightest colors of paint. I did not worry too much about painting inside the flat areas of my pattern as the darkest paint color used on the embossed areas covered any stray colors of paint. I used Creative Inspirations paint in Winter Frost, Autumn Wheat, Raw Sienna, Antique Copper and Mocha Latte.

Step Four: Cut the canvas into four equal strips.

Step Five: To create the corners of your frame, line two canvas pieces up perpendicularly and cut through both pieces at a 45-degree angle. Repeat this process for the remaining three corners. Attach the corners together with a small piece of tape on the backside of the frame.

Use this frame on a layout, card or fun off-the-page project. Try using bright colored paints for an exciting twist!

In addition to the frame, I also painted over a pencil sketch photo of my dog.  I had a lot of fun with this project!

Lighthouse - Moxxie

Moxxie Supplies:
Midway Madness: Funburst - MM-1303
Midway Madness: Carousel - MM-1299

Other Supplies:
Wood Lighthouse
Netting
Shells
Paint
Ink
Thread

I'm sharing a fun project using the Moxxie Midway Madness collection.  This is a different take on the Midway Madness collection, which is designed with all kinds of fun outings in mind: carnivals, county fairs and amusement parks. The red and white stripes and the navy patterned papers had me thinking nautical thoughts. I'm in beach mode right now and had a lot of fun altering this little lighthouse.

I love it when my paper collections work well for multiple themes! If you're looking for more inspiration for your beach-themed projects, be sure to check out the Moxxie blog and facebook pages to see what my fellow Muses have been creating. Thanks for stopping by today!

With Love ATC - Your Memories Here

Supplies:
ATC Base: Ranger
Flower: Prima
Tag: Webster's Pages
Lace: Prima
Ribbon: Offray
Ink: Ranger
Gelatos: Faber-Castell
Paint: Plaid
Glass Bead Gel: Golden
Other: Punchinella

Thanks for stopping by today!  I created this altered trading card for Your Memories Here, using up some odds and ends from my stash and my new set of Faber-Castell Gelatos.  I've been experimenting with different mediums and I had a lot of fun making this colored background.

I started by mixing glass bead gel with some cream-colored paint and then spread a thin layer over the base of my card.  Once that was dry, I brushed several Gelatos over the surface in Lavender, Guava  and Butter Cream.  I then used a water brush to spread the color around.  I love how well the Gelatos blend with each other with just a little bit of water.

There are several different sets of Gelatos in the Your Memories Here Store.  Buy a couple or get the entire set!

At The Beach: Beachwear - AB-1266
At The Beach: Punch-Out Sheets - AB-4012
At The Beach: Elements Stickers - AB-2214

Sketch: Kat Hansen

Surf's up!  I had a great time cutting up patterned papers from the Moxxie At The Beach collection for this page.  Now that my girls are officially out of school for the summer we'll be spending a lot more time at the beach.  There is just something about the sun, sand and sound of the surf that I find totally relaxing.  This paper collection does a great job of capturing the best of the beach with patterns like waves, palm trees and flowers.  The weathered wood is my favorite sheet from the collection and is a great neutral base for layouts featuring your favorite beach babe!  I love how the oranges, teals and yellows really pop!  If you're looking for more inspiration for your beach-themed projects, be sure to check out the Moxxie blog and facebook pages to see what my fellow Muses have been creating.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Seaside Resort - Your Memories Here

Supplies:
Paper: Pink Paislee
Ephemera: Pink Paislee
Dragonfly: Pink Paislee
Pearls, Rhinestones: Prima
Other: Twine

I'm sharing a layout for Your Memories Here today.  I picked up the Pink Paislee Nantucket collection from the Your Memories Here Store and I just love the color palette and mix of patterns.  I took these photos while I was on my honeymoon in Key West, Florida.  The garden were we stayed was gorgeous.

I cut the center from the squares on the Clambake patterned paper to make a fun lattice.  The ephemera package is full of wonderful designs and I chose some numbers that are significant to me to make a small cluster to embellish the corner of this page.

Be sure to stop by the Your Memories Here Store and visit the Pink Paislee section. Also available are the London Market, Spring Jubilee, Indigo Bleu and Declarations collections!

SNR Front Page and Blog Team & Staffer Call!

***Front Page and Blog Team Call***
Scrapbook News and Review Magazine will be accepting submissions from both paper and digital crafters until June 28, 2012. Exact details of the position will only be provided upon invitation to become a SNR staffer. While we encourage questions regarding the application process, we will not answer any questions that have not been addressed in this call.

This call is a bit different from a regular staffer call as you will be working more with the front page and our blog and the upcoming online classroom rather than inside the magazine.

We’re looking for people who love to craft, who enjoy posting on blogs and message boards, who love to inspire and educate, and who love to get chatty. Not necessarily in that order.

The goal is to bring on paper crafters – a mix of scrapbookers, card makers, stampers, mixed media artists and those who like to create altered art and home décor. Please note that this position is for both the magazine and our upcoming online classroom.

Click HERE to submit your application.

***Magazine Staffer Call***
SNR Magazine will be accepting submissions from both paper and digital crafters until June 28, 2012 and staffers will be announced within two weeks of the deadline. Exact details of the position will only be provided upon invitation to become a SNR staffer. While we encourage questions regarding the application, we will not answer any questions that have not been addressed in the call.

For this call, we’re searching for card makers, stampers, mixed media artists and scrapbookers, and in that order. Please note that this is for the magazine only and is not affiliated with the SNR classroom or the instructor/writer call.

Click HERE to submit your application.

Staffer Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5-7 projects per month, depending upon your position with SNR.
  • Provide artwork content for the front page as well as in the magazine (this is a part of the minimum projects per month).
  • Actively and enthusiastically participate on our board, promote SNR, and contribute to SNR events.
  • Have an appetite to learn and be willing to try new techniques; self-education is a plus.
  • Work well with others in a team environment as well as work independently on your own projects.
  • The most important attribute is the ability to meet all deadlines and turn in quality artwork that is worthy of your own approval.
About SNR:
  • We have been in business since April 2008.
  • We have passionately created a fun, friendly, encouraging and educational atmosphere.
  • We help staffers to carve out their own niches and look at new opportunities when it comes to learning new things and techniques.
  • We appreciate valuable input from our staffers and respect their ideas, opinions and suggestions.
  • We communicate with staffers on a daily basis so they always know what’s going on.
  • We ensure that all staffers feel good about working with SNR and have their best interests at heart.
  • We have almost 17,000 registered users on the SNR site.
  • We have thousands of visitors and subscribers per day, which you can check out on our front page on the Users Online counter.
  • Our motto is to check the diva at the door. All staffers are created equal and no one is put above another.
Please read the following in its entirety:
  • It’s important to note that this is not a design team call. We are seeking paper crafters who will become an ongoing staff member with no predetermined term and with an at-will relationship.
  • Early submissions are encouraged and we strongly suggest that applicants not wait until the last minute to turn in their applications. Of course, all applications will be painstakingly considered and waiting until the deadline, or near the deadline, will not harm your chances of becoming a staffer.
  • We have chosen not to disclose how many people we’re seeking for staff members as it will depend on the quality of the artwork received and the enthusiasm of the applicants that will ultimately affect our decision.
  • We’re looking for a variety of styles, skills and personalities, and you do not have to have advanced skills but they are a plus. Rather, we’re looking for artists that complement our existing staffers and magazine artwork.
  • Please do not try to guess what we’re looking for and tailor your application to your thinking as you may end up trying to put a square peg into a round hole. Instead, tell us about yourself and go ahead and sing your own praises. Be true to who you are and that will shine through more than putting on a good show. We also strongly encourage you not to check boxes that do not apply to you, your style, or your skills.
  • Our goal is to make this a win/win relationship and putting your best foot forward is a must, but projecting a false image or a style that isn’t true to you will only hurt you and SNR in the long run. Since it is an at-will relationship, we will evaluate new staffers based on their applications as well as their attitude and willingness to participate once a part of our staff.
  • We also ask that you not contact any current staffers for information about SNR unless you already know them and they would be receptive to your questions. Otherwise, please feel free to ask them about the integrity and professionalism of our company.

I love summer!  Now that my daughters are out of school we will be spending a lot of time at the beach.  I had a lot of fun making this Endless Summer display box for my beach themed projects using the Momenta Endless Summer collection.  The mini wooden clothespins make swapping out projects easy so my newest creations will always be on display.

The Endless Summer Paper Pad has patterned papers with two color schemes, cool blues and greens and hot pinks and oranges.  The coordinating sticker collection is fabulous and contains layered stickers, embossed stickers and vellum stickers.  Momenta makes it easy to add color and texture to projects.

Many of the stickers in this collection are perfect to use with wallet sized photos without overwhelming a smaller project.

This display box would also work for travel souvenirs and post cards.  There are dozens of Momenta paper collections available that would be perfect for a project like this. Try personalizing a display box for a birthday or graduation party or upcoming holiday.

The Great Outdoors - Moxxie

Moxxie Supplies:
Happy Camper: Gone Camping HPC-1286
Happy Camper: Uninvited Guests HPC-1288
Happy Camper: Border Sticker HPC-2224
Happy Camper: Element Sticker HPC-2223
Happy Camper: Punch-Out Sheet HPC-4015
Fish Stories: Punch-Out Sheet FS-4016

I'm sharing another layout for Moxxie today.  My husband was able to visit the Sequoia National Forest on his last business trip and he took some amazing photos.  Moxxie has two new collections that are perfect for scrapping nature and the great outdoors. The Happy Camper line is great by itself, but I also added some of the coordinating punch-outs from the Fish Stories line for even more fun. I cut the hexagon shapes from the Uninvited Guests (HPC-1288) paper. They were a great way to add a patterned design to the solid papers that I used on this layout. I used adhesive foam to raise several of the hexagon shapes off the background to add dimension to this page.

I used a B-side paper for the base of this layout, and rather than cut the title strip from the paper, I chose to highlight the dark brown stripe at the top of the page with a border sticker and some of the hexagon pieces I cut from the patterned paper. To ensure that this page would fit into my album, I trimmed a small strip from the bottom of the page, bringing my page measurement back down to 12"x12."

The punch-out sheets from both of these collections are double-sided and I chose to use the solid sides to layer under a sticker and to make a small tag.

With a little creative cutting, you can make the printed designs work for you and create a one-of-a-kind page! Visit the Moxxie facebook page for more inspiration from the Moxxie Muses.

Musical Evenings - Your Memories Here

Supplies:
Paper: Pink Paislee
Ephemera: Pink Paislee
Collage Sheet: Pink Paislee
Doilies: Hallmark
Ribbon: May Arts
Pen: Sakura
Ink: Ranger
Other: Button, Staples, Twine

I recently purchased the Pink Paislee London Market collection from Your Memories Here.  I love the romantic vintage designs.  At first glance, I thought I would use this line for weddings, mother’s day and love themed projects due to the abundance of flowers, script and pastel colors present on the papers.  I'm pleasantly surprised that I also like this collection for masculine layouts.  There is plenty of blue, black and grey to work with.

The ephemera package includes pennants with pre-punched holes.  I was able to put this banner together quickly.

Be sure to stop by the Your Memories Here Store and visit the Pink Paislee section.  Also available are the Nantucket, Spring Jubilee, Indigo Bleu and Declarations collections!
