Beauty Album - Your Memories Here

I'm sharing a mini album I created with the gorgeous Out Of The Blue Kit from Your Memories Here. This beautiful kit features papers from the Prima Fairy Belle collection as well as Prima flowers,  alphabet stickers and rhinestones. I used a Prima album that I had in my stash and some additional embellishments from my Prima Grab Bag.

The focal point of my flower cluster is one of my favorite flowers, a Prima Bravo bloom. I added a decorative pin to the flower center.

I added texture to the cover with Gesso, Molding Paste and a Prima Stencil.  I also highlighted the embellishments with a few quick strokes of Gesso to give my cover a more shabby feel.  I brushed the edges of this cover with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I used a similar design for the inside pages of this album.  I lightly misted the acrylic pages with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Silver Sugar, Spring Rain and Puerto Rico.  I wanted a pale shimmery base that would give my pages an ethereal look.  I then used a Prima Stencil and Gesso to paint the flourish pattern on each page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the Your Memories Here Store.  There is a great selection of Kits available which make fabulous holiday gifts! A selection of Prima Grab Bags are now 50% off to make way for the new releases which will soon be available!

Christmas Eve - Creative Inspirations Paint

I'm sharing a Christmas layout for Creative Inspirations Paint today. I hope you all are enjoying your holiday with family and friends.  I had a great time accenting this page with Creative Inspirations Jeweled Inspirations and paint.

The Small Siam Jeweled Inspirations were the perfect size to highlight the holly berries on the patterned paper.

I added sparkle to several areas of the paper using Emerald paint and the patterned paper as a guide.

Christmas Time Again - Scrap It With A Song + DT Call!

It's time to add a new song to the playlist at Scrap It With A Song. In the spirit of the holiday season the Pop Gals and Rock Chicks are teaming up for this last challenge of the year. Each team member as chosen their favorite Christmas Song. I have several favorite Christmas songs, but I finally settled for "Christmas Time Again" by Extreme.  Does anyone else have a crush on Nuno Bettencourt? I used some of the lyrics for my journaling, "All I want for Christmas is love."  The SIWAS Team would love to see how you interpret your favorite Christmas song! Link up your project to the SIWAS Blog by the end of the month for your chance to be named one of our Play List Favorites and a future Guest Designer! Our very own Nicole is giving away some fabulous goodies from the Carta Bella Paris Girl collection to one lucky winner!
It's time for a DT Call again! SIWAS is looking for some fresh new faces to add to our current list of super-star designers!  We will be accepting applications until December 30th and our new DT will be announced the first challenge in February.  The 6 month term is running from February-July 2013.  You are required to participate in 2 challenges a month and you'll be given the challenges a month in advance.  As a member of the DT you will need to promote the challenge on your blog, facebook or twitter account.  You will also be required to comment on participants entries. No prior DT experience needed! To apply for the DT, just take part in any of our December challenges, and be sure to put "DT" next to you name in the linky so we know you're interested.

Merry Christmas Card - Tando Creative / Moxxie

For the Month of December the Tando Creative Team is challenging you to create projects using the theme Seasonal Wishes. Each week a member, or two, of the DT will share their project to inspire you to join us. Today is my turn to share a project.  I created this card with the gorgeous Moxxie Joys of the Season collection and a Tando Creative Running Reindeer.

I used mist, crackle paint and Kosher salt to create the finish on this reindeer.  This tutorial by Tracey Sabella was my inspiration.

Up for grabs this month are 4 pieces of Tando chipboard of your choice!  All you have to do is create a piece incorporating the monthly theme and link to the Tando Creative Challenge Blog. You don't have to use Tando products, but, if you do you'll be entered into the draw twice, doubling your chances to win. We don't have many rules, as rules spoil the fun, but in order to be in with a chance of winning we do ask that your project is entered for a maximum of 5 challenges, including Tando.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Moxxie; Stickers: Moxxie; Lace: Webster's Pages; Pearls: Michale's; Ink: Ranger; Gesso: Golden; Mist: Ranger; Crackle Paint: Ranger; Paint Pen: Zig; Glaze; Helmar; Other: Kosher Salt, Bells, Twine

Blackbird - Tando Creative Blog Hop

It's time for another Tando Creative Product Focus Blog Hop!  The product from the Tando range featured in this hop is birds. The fabulous Tando Design Team members have created stunning projects using these products. If you leave a comment on every blog in the hop you will be entered into the prize draw to win some of these flourishes! If you have arrived here from Karen's Blog, you're on the right track.  If you're visiting my blog today for another reason, and you would like a chance to win some fabulous Tando Creative chipboard, please join the hop and start back at the Tando Creative Blog.

I immediately thought of the song "Blackbird" by the Beatles when I sat down at my craft table to put this Scalloped Banner together. I used a bird from the Mini Birds Grab Bag, which I covered with patterned paper and attached that to the banner along with the printed song lyrics.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night

Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

I painted the scalloped base with black paint.  I misted the triangular pieces with Black Marble Dylusions Ink Spray and then dabbed them with a paper towel while they were still wet to get the nice grey tone.  I added some fun crackle texture with a Tim Holtz Crackle stamp and some embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by today!  The next stop on the hop is Gez's Blog.
