Rock Star - Moxxie

Hi! I'm sharing a layout for Moxxie today showing the versatility of the Basketball collection. I don't have a basketball player in my house, but I do have a musician. The grungy brick and chain link fence patterned papers were perfect for a rock-and-roll page! The On The Court patterned paper added a fun texture and awesome pop of color to my layout.

I used a favorite mask, molding paste and ink to create the music note pattern on this page. I added a bit of grunge with some eyelets and leather cording.

I accented my photos with stickers from the Moxxie Noteworthy collection.

I split my title into two parts in opposite corners of my page.  For the first word of the title I used Moxxie Rub-on Alphas in Red. I also added some star stickers from the older Basketball collection, which shares a similar color palette.

The second word of my title is made from a Basketball Die-Cut. The original design was "All Star!" I cut away the "All" and replaced the space with a button.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have shown how to use the B-sides of patterned papers and some themed embellishments from different collections to personalize a paper collection to better suite your needs.

Paris Snow Globe - Paper Wings Productions

TGIF! I'm sharing a project I created with the April Mixed Media Kit for Paper Wings Productions today. I know many of you are still battling Winter, so keeping that in mind, I thought it would be fun to share my Paris themed snow globe I put together with the supplies from the kit.

I love map prints and was thrilled to find one included on the clip art sheet from the kit! It made a nice backdrop for my little scene, a cloud rub-on and the Eiffel Tower from the Royal Melange Set.

I wrapped the base of my globe with the beautiful piece of velvet ribbon from the kit. I actually adhered the ribbon velvet side down as I liked the pretty lace with just a hint of color peeking through. I finished this piece by adding a small crown charm, which is also included in the kit!

A gentle shake of the globe sets loose a flurry of pretty glitter.  For those of you who are still dealing with real snow, hang in there! You can pick up the April Mixed Media Kit from the Paper Wings Productions Store and create inside where it is nice and warm.

Faux Stained Glass Card - Couture Creations

Hi! I'm sharing a faux stained glass card that I created with the Large Vintage Girl 5x7 Embossing Folder and some of my favorite colors of Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue for Couture Creations today. You can create a card like this for yourself in several simple steps with a little patience and plenty of drying time.

Step One: Cut a piece of cardstock to measure 5 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches and emboss using the Large Vintage Girl 5x7 Embossing Folder. Do not trim the extra cardstock from the embossed design (shown at the top of my embossed cardstock piece above). This extra paper will be used to create a flap to attach the back side of the card in a later step.

Step Two: Using a Precision Craft Knife, carefully cut the cardstock from inside the embossed design. Note: I did not cut all the cardstock from several of the larger flourishes around the edge of the frame to add stability to my design. Do not worry about cutting perfectly.  All edges will be cleaned up in a subsequent step.

Once the majority of the cardstock is cut from the embossed design, use a ruler and a Precision Craft Knife to remove the embossed piece from the cardstock, creating a frame. Use a pair of Craft Scissors to cut the cardstock away from the edge of the embossed design, leaving a pretty decorative edge.

Trim the clear packaging from the Large Vintage Girl 5x7 Embossing Folder to fit the cardstock frame.  This piece will serve as the base of the front of the card. If you don't have a piece of clear packaging on hand, a piece of acetate will also work although it will not be as sturdy.

Step Three: Glue the Large Vintage Girl frame to the piece of clear packaging.  Fill in the spaces of the design with your favorite colors of Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue and set aside to dry. Note: I found that a toothpick was a great tool for spreading the Glitzin' Glamour into the small spaces of this design.

Step Four: Glue the cardstock frame from Step Two to the top of the plastic piece. Apply a layer of black puffy paint over the black cardstock. The black paint will cover all the cut edges of the cardstock and fill in the small debossed areas of the cardstock that were not cut away in Step Two, creating a smooth finish that resembles the solder found on true stained glass pieces. Set aside to dry.

Step Five: Cut a piece of cardstock to measure 5 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches. This piece will be the back of the card. Score the longer side of the cardstock frame on the front piece of the card to create a flap. Adhere a piece of Double Sided Tape to the underside of the flap, place the piece of cardstock that was just cut behind the front of the card and fold over the flap, securing the back side of the card.

Step Six: Embellish the front of the card to finish.  I added lines of black puffy paint from the center of each flourished edge to the center of each side of the frame to "attach" my glittered image to the frame, making it look more like a real stained glass window. I also added some rhinestones and a sentiment, changing the direction of my card from how it was shown above, to fit the stamp I chose to use.

I'd Follow You Anywhere - Quick Quotes

I'm sharing a layout featuring the versatile 6x6 paper pads for Quick Quotes today. One of my favorite features of the pads is the back cover. It isn't the standard plain piece of drab chipboard, but rather a glossy chipboard sporting a fabulous print! I used the back cover of the Stowaway pad on my layout under my photo. An added bonus is the hole punched in the top, the perfect spot for securing a piece of ribbon!

Each of the 6x6 paper pads comes with pages of quotes and journaling spots which are great for building layers and adding titles.

The pads also contain coordinating solid cardstock that I used to create my flowers. The cardstock is sturdy, which makes cutting and shaping flowers like this a breeze!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you are inspired to pick up a 6x6 Paper Pad or two! You can find them at the Quick Quotes Store or at

Give Hugs Tag - Creative Inspirations Paint

Hi! I'm sharing a tag featuring some of my favorite colors of Creative Inspirations Paint and Deliquesce Fine Platinum Embossing Powder.

I used Kassi's fabulous Embossed Paste technique to add the platinum squares to my tag. This is such a fun way to emboss!  I'll be using this method again!

I poured paint directly onto my tag for a splash of color.  I tilted the tag and let gravity move the wet paint for a natural look.

Beach Tag - Clearsnap Fairy Dust Challenge

Clearsnap's April Product Spotlight is all about Donna Salazar Designs™ Mix'd Media Inx™, Donna Salazar Designs™ Mix'd Media Inx™ CHOX, and Donna Salazar Designs™ Fairy Dust Glitter! The Clearsnap Challenge for this month is to use Fairy Dust Glitter on a project. They had me at Fairy Dust Glitter, but Donna has sweetened the deal by offering up a canvas to a random winner! How cool is that?!

The sparkle on the Fairy Dust glitter is amazing and reminds me of the way the sand catches the sun's rays at the beach. I went with a beach theme for my tag, adding fun embellishments like a sand dollar, starfish and feather. I love the beach! You can shake the sand from your shoes but it will never leave your soul.

Thanks for stopping by today!  If you want a chance to win Donna's canvas, you have until the end of the month to link up a project using Fairy Dust Glitter to the Clearsnap Blog.

Book Plate Pendant - Tando Creative

I'm sharing a pendant for the Jewelry theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I started this piece with a Mini Bookplate. The finish on my pendant is a mix of glue, glitter, mist and alcohol inks. To achieve a similar finish for one of your projects, cover the chipboard with glue, add glitter, mist and alcohol ink, and let dry.  The swirl design happens when the wet mediums interact!

I used one of my favorite stamps and some Distress Markers to color the image for the center of the pendant, which I sealed with Glossy Accents. Once my piece was dry I added it to a simple chain. One of the fantastic features of the bookplates are that they come with holes on both sides, so I didn't have to punch my own!

Lunch Date - Inspired Blueprints #92

It's time for another Inspired Blueprints reveal! I love this sketch and didn't change anything except for one of my photos is sized slightly larger than 4x4. I think this sketch is really fun so I created a layout about a fun lunch date that I had with my youngest daughter.  She's happy to spend the afternoon at the mall anytime!

One of my favorite things about being part of an International Design Team is incorporating supplies from all over the world in my projects.  The patterned papers I used are from two of my favorite Canadian companies; Lucky 7 Factory and hoarded papers from Rose Moka, who I miss very much.  Most of my embellishments come all the way from Australia and include items from D-Lish  Scraps and The Trinket Track.

If you're looking for some inspiration, you can find more Inspired Blueprints sketches on Pinterest. Become a follower of the Inspired Blueprints Blog and join the Inspired Blueprints Community so you don't miss any sketches.

Textured ATCs - Paper Wings Productions

Hi! I'm sharing a themed post all about texture and the fabulous April Mixed Media Kit for Paper Wings Productions today. The mask, rub-ons, clip art, Textural Accents and Paper Wings Productions Stamps found in the kit make adding layers of texture to your projects easy and fun!

The kit comes with blank artist trading cards, which is a great size to experiment with new techniques and mediums. I started this card by covering it with a pretty patterned paper and one of the clip art photos from the kit. I then added some cloud rub-ons to the photo and a postal stamp from the Royal Melange Set to the top right-hand corner of the card. Both of these items are included in the kit!The "Paris" stamp is part of the Paris Clear Stamp Set.

I mixed some ink into the Gel Medium from the Textural Accents Set to create the rich brown color and spread it over the Huey's Circles Mask to add a textured pattern to the card. I highlighted the Eiffel Tower with some Star Dust Stickles (also in the kit!) to finish the card.

I started this second ATC the same as the first, with patterned paper and an image from the clip art sheet. I then added several layers of clear embossing powder

While the final layer of embossing powder was still hot, I pressed two stamps from the Royal Melange Stamp Set into the powder. To keep the stamps from sticking to the card, coat them with watermark ink before you press them into the melted powder.

I chilled the card in the freezer for a couple of minutes and then bent the card in several places to crack the surface. I mixed Glaze from the Textural Accents Set with some brown ink and brushed it over the surface of the card to highlight the stamped impressions and cracks and to give the card an aged look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you! You can pick up the April Mixed Media Kit from the Paper Wings Productions Store. There are also a couple March Mixed Media Kits available!

SK8R - Couture Creations

Hi! I'm so excited to share my first project for Couture Creations! I created a fun and funky 6x6 layout featuring the Great Fubu Embossing Folder from the Sweet Dreams Collection. The embossed background and floral embellishment I added to this page really helps to capture the excitement my daughter had after putting on her first pair of roller skates.

I embossed my cardstock and then sanded the raised impression with the Couture Creations Sanding Block to help the pattern pop. I'm all about options and I love that the three different grits on this Sanding Block allow me to distress, sand or antique my paper to match the style of my project!

A scalloped edge is one of my favorite patterns and I paired that with a youthful print to make a hip photo mat for this page.  I used the second largest square from the Scallop Square Nesting Die Set. The Couture Creations Nesting Dies cut, emboss and stencil and each package comes with a magnetic mat for easy storage!

I used the Great Fubu Embossing Folder and some Core'dinations  cardstock to create a floral embellishment for my layout.  After I embossed my cardstock I cut the pattern out using my Couture Creations Craft Scissors. I added a Gemstone to the flower center for a nice pop of color.

Here's a close-up of the flower. The Core-dinations cardstock paired with the Couture Creations embossing folder yields a fantastic crisp impression. No torn or cracked paper here!

I added some sparkle and shine to several of my stickers with some Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue. I love the way the glitter catches the light!

I hope I have inspired you. Thanks for stopping by today!
