If I Had A Flower Card - Couture Creations

Hi! I'm sharing a clean and simple card for Couture Creations today. Some of my favorite embossing folders are from the Fine Designs Collection. I think the embossed images are simply beautiful and don't need much in the way of embellishing. I used the Pure Pleasure A2 Embossing Folder for this card.

I colored my embossed image with Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage and Vintage Photo Distress Markers. The brush tip of the Distress Markers glided over the embossed areas, making coloring my image quick and easy. I filled in the flower centers with Aztec Gold Glitzin' Glamour. I then inked the edges of my floral design with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I selected a sentiment from the Paper Wings Productions Flower Quotes Cling Stamp Set and added the text to the top of my card with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink. I then adhered the image to a piece of patterned paper and then onto a patterned card base.

I finished my card by adding Cafe Creme Self Adhesive Pearls to the corners of my colored image.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Gamer - Moxxie

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the Mix It Up Collection from Moxxie today. My daughter loves her Nintendo 3DS and these patterned papers, cardstock stickers and rub-ons were perfect for documenting her pastime.

I'm a big fan of the vibrant colors that Moxxie uses for their rub-ons. This title really pops off the page! I also added some Space Invader rub-ons to my photo for a fun splash of color.

I cut some of the small blocks from the patterned paper and attached them to to my page with  adhesive foam to add dimension to my layout.

Thanks for stopping my today!

Original - Paper Wings Productions

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the August Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit for Paper Wings Productions. I not only used the kit supplies, but also part of the packaging. The sturdy piece of chipboard that helps protect the kit contents during mailing is approximately 8.5x11 and made a create base for my layout! I used the Circle Background Cling Stamp to add a fun pattern to the chipboard base.

I added some script with my favorite Writing Background Cling Stamp.

I added color to the background with Distress Ink, Mr. Huey's Mist and the Art Textures Cling Stamp Set. The brown dot pattern is one of the art texture stamps and a great way to fill out color splatter patterns in a more predictable way!

I added several layers of patterned envelope pieces under my photo. The Tim Holtz Rub-On package contains a variety of sizes, many of which are perfect for use on photograhps.

I used a Tim Holtz Rub-On for the title, which I accented with a torn piece of Kaisercraft wrapping paper and another of my favorite Art Texture stamps.

School Days - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the NEW "Pattern Perfect" line, a Back to School Collection, for Quick Quotes today. Just like the name "Pattern Perfect" suggests, this line includes all of my favorite patterns perfect for school themed projects like stars, apples, rulers, books, the alphabet and numbers. I had yet to scrap my daughter's school photo, so my procrastination really paid off!

I cut several fun shapes and letters from the patterned papers for this embellishment cluster. The green "bow" on the bottom is actually an "&" symbol that I turned on its side. I added my daughter's grade to the top of the cluster with a Pattern Perfect Sticker.

One of the Pattern Perfect Chipboard Die-Cuts fit perfectly in the open space on this book binding. I also added chipboard photo corners and a chipboard title to my page.

Quick Quotes is sponsoring Sketch #97 at Sketchabilities! Link up your layout using this sketch to the Sketchabilities Blog by the end of the month for a chance to win a fabulous Quick Quotes Prize Package!

Sunshine Of My Life - Tando Creative

I'm sharing a layout that I created for Tando Creative today. The theme on the challenge blog this month is "Feel the Heat." I had a lot of fun creating this summer themed layout. The Tando Rainbow and Elements Set was perfect for this sunny photo of my brother-in-law and nephew.

I colored the clouds with a coat of white acrylic paint. I used Perfect Pearls, twine and some buttons to embellish the sun. If you've visited my blog during the past month, you may recognize the title of this page as the sentiment block from a card that I created for Quick Quotes. I rarely give away the cards that I make and I thought the sentiment was just perfect for this sunny page. =)

Up for grabs this month are 4 pieces of Tando chipboard of your choice!  All you have to do is create a piece incorporating the monthly theme and link to the Tando Creative Challenge Blog. You don't have to use Tando products, but, if you do you'll be entered into the draw twice, doubling your chances to win. We don't have many rules, as rules spoil the fun, but in order to be in with a chance of winning we do ask that your project is entered for a maximum of 5 challenges, including Tando.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Gesso Stamped Dryer Sheet Card Set - Faber-Castell + Penny Black Giveaway!

The artistry of Penny Black stamps and Creative Dies along with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft's colorful Mix and Match mediums take the mystery out of the oh-so-trendy mixed media look! All this week the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Guest Design Team will be sharing projects using Penny Black stamps. Check out Penny Black crafts HERE and leave them some comment love for a chance to win three stamps from their newest release, Colorful Christmas. Also, leave a comment on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Blog for a chance to win a $50 Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft prize pack!

Hello! I'm sharing a project for the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Guest Design Team today. Penny Black has graciously supplied the team with stamps and we are sharing projects this week featuring the fabulous stamps paired with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products. I found a pretty piece of specialty paper in my scrap room that was just begging for some color. The paper was similar in texture to a dryer sheet and sported a painted white floral pattern. I had a lot of fun coloring it with the new Gelatos® Designer Colors sets and created a fun card set.

To start, I randomly scribbled the new Tropical Gelatos® Designer Colors onto my craft mat, spritzed with water, blended with my finger and then carefully pressed the specialty paper into the color.

I love the resulting rainbow of color! The Gelatos® blend fabulously and I was able to mix up some nice shades of green and orange. Once my paper was dry, I mounted it on a piece of cardstock and attached it to a card base.

I used a Warm Grey IV (#273) Stamper's Big Brush Pen with a set of Life's Messages stamps to create the sentiments for my card set.

I used the new 50's Diner Gelatos® Designer Colors set on this pair of cards.

Sadly, I only had one piece of the specialty paper and I wasn't ready for the fun to end. I experimented and was able to create a similar patterned paper by stamping a leaf pattern onto a dryer sheet using Gesso and the Penny Black Verdent Stamp. Note: Be sure to rinse the Gesso from the stamp as soon as you finish stamping.

I selected several green Gealtos®, Green Tea, Lime, Pistachio and Spearmint, and a Gold Champagne Gelato® and added color to my dryer sheet using the same process as shown above.

Once my paper was dry, I mounted it on a piece of cardstock and attached it to a card base. I used the Green Stamper's Big Brush Pen Set for the message on this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you.

Serendipity - CSW Distributors

Hi! I'm sharing a card that I created with the Poetry Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Elegance Collection for CSW Distributors today. I started this card with an embossed piece of Aluminum. I added a patina finish to the aluminum with a patina green finishing set and some color to the blooms with alcohol inks. With a few simple steps, its possible to add years of weathering in just minutes!

Step One: Emboss a piece of aluminum with the Poetry Embossing Folder and prime the surface with a clear sealant.

Step Two: Using a paint brush, apply several coats of a copper metallic surfacer to the aluminum. While the last coat of metallic surfacer is still wet, randomly apply a patina green antiquing solution to the aluminum with a paint brush using a pouncing motion. Set aside to dry. Note: The Sophisticated Finishes Patina Green Set that I used is not a paint or faux finish. These chemicals cause copper, brass and bronze to oxidize as they might naturally, given years of exposure to the elements. The patina solutions work on genuine metals, like copper, brass and bronze, as well as non-metal surfaces, like wood, plaster, glass, ceramic, canvas, cardboard and plastic.

Step Three: Using a paint brush, apply color to the blooms with Alcohol Inks and let dry. Randomly apply a black tinting solution, or black paint or ink, to the aluminum for a grungy look. Let dry. Protect the aluminum with a coat of clear sealant.

Step Four: Mount the aluminum onto a card base and embellish to finish. Note: I mounted my aluminum piece onto a some cork, to add another fun layer of texture, and then onto a cardstock base. I then added a ribbon bow that I topped with a Vintage Gold Self Adhesive Gemstone. I finished my card with a sentiment sticker that I adhered with a piece of Foam Mounting Tape.
