Happy Holidays - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing one last layout for Quick Quotes before the New Year. I've been having a blast visiting family and friends this holiday season. I've also shared many happy times with family pets! I'm lucky to have not one, but two, bulldogs to spend time with! This sweet girl belongs to my brother.

I used patterned papers from the Quick Quotes Beautiful Life, Happiness and Treasure Chest collections. I saved a fun paw print cellophane bag from my last trip to the vet clinic and added it to my layout to play up the pet theme of my page.

I cut colored rectangles from a piece of Happiness 400 patterned paper and arranged them into a tree design that I decorated with small pieces of chipboard.

I edged the newsprint patterned paper, which I think is just fantastic for pet pages, with Red Hot PowderPuff Chalking Ink, the perfect shade of bright red for festive holiday projects.

Speaking of ink...

If one of your resolutions for 2014 is to get organized, why not pick up one of these Ink Organizers?!  This storage organizer, by Zookeeper, was originally designed for embellishments and little pieces, but also works GREAT to store Powder Puff Chalking Inks! This organizer holds all 24 Powder Puff colors and has plenty of room for the NEW COLORS coming in January! These organizers are in very limited supply, so pick up yours before they’re gone!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Snow Day Snuggles - Moxxie

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the Winterland collection for Moxxie today. The frosty flourish patterned paper was the perfect background for these photos of my daughters all bundled up!

I used a scalloped circle die to cut my pictures and then looped colored twine through the holes to add a pop of color to the edge of my photos.

I embellished two gloves with patterned paper, die-cuts and stickers. I attached the two gloves together across the page with loops of colored twine.

I used the December Sketch from Creative Embellishments for this layout.

December Daily Carousel - Couture Creations

Hi! I'm sharing my December Daily Carousel for Couture Creations today. December is always a whirlwind month for me, so I thought a spinning album would be a fun way to document my days. I started with some notecards and photo sleeves and added texture and color with my favorite Couture Creations Wrapped in Joy Embossing Folders and some Premium Nesting Dies.

Follow these steps to create "chalkboard" finish embossed cardstock:

1. Emboss white cardstock with your favorite Wrapped in Joy Embossing Folders.
2. Paint each piece of cardstock with gesso. Let dry.
3. Paint each piece of cardstock with festive colors of watered-down acrylic paint. Let Dry.
4. Sand each piece of cardstock with a Sanding Block to reveal the white core.

Continuing with the chalkboard theme, I die-cut black cardstock with a Victorian Square Nesting Die to create date placecards to number my notecards. I stamped the numbers onto each square white ink.

Here's my notecards for the first half of the month. I tucked painted cardstock pieces behind the large photos and into photo sleeves for a pop of color. I attached the date cards to the back of each notecard.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Altered Snowflake - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing an altered snowflake for Quick Quotes today. I chose a piece of patterned paper from the Treasure Chest Collection and paired it with some frosty blues and purples for this fun project. I have already had a couple of snowy days here in Virginia, but if I'm being honest, I definitely prefer the paper variety of snowflakes!

I selected the Treasure Chest 100 patterned paper for the fun dot pattern and its neutral color and cut it to cover a wood snowflake. I cut and folded some snowflake rosettes for embellishments. I added a frosty finish to the flakes with some Coconut PowderPuff Chalking Ink. I cut the "Joy" sentiment from a quote found in the Inspire Bundle.

I dabbed Coconut PowderPuff Chalking Ink around the edge of the snowflake and embellished each segment with a pearl to finish.

I'm planning on using this snowflake as a gift topper for a special present. Thanks for stopping by today!

Advent House - Tando Creative + Couture Creations

Hi! I'm sharing my House Shaped Advent Calendar that I created for Tando Creative and Couture Creations today. I had a blast putting this project together. My daughters are having so much fun counting down the days until Christmas, especially when every drawer contains a special treat!

I started by covering the house with some cozy patterned papers. I used the Tando Creative Joined Snowflake Mask to add some textured stars to the snowy scene on the sides of the house.

I smoothed molding paste over just the centers of the snowflakes on the mask, which was the perfect design for the sky. I added Tando Creative Mini Snowflakes that I colored with acrylic paint and Couture Creations Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue.

To aid with opening, I attached small wooden plugs to the center of each drawer.

I wanted to embellish the roof with realistic looking "shingles" so I used the Hanging Sign Die from the Couture Creations Endless Dreams Collection to cut patterned paper to cover the roof.

I used a Couture Creations Sponge Dauber to ink the edges of each shingle. I added some "snow" to the top of my roof and covered it with a layer of Couture Creations Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue to give it the fantastic sparkle of fresh fallen snow.

Peace on Earth Card - Zeus and Zoe Guest Designer

Hi! I'm sharing a Christmas card that I created with the Zeus and Zoe Green with Envy Embellishment Kit today. You can find similar kits HERE. I layered pieces of vintage newspaper and sheet music and a vintage postcard onto an embossed card base. I loved the image on the postcard and decided to play up the green and purple color palette for a non-traditional holiday card.

I topped my festive embellishment cluster with a stamped sentiment that I cut from a vintage book page. I just love the look of aged paper!

I finished my card with some decorative chipboard and a vintage inspired key.

Here is a peek of the gorgeous Green with Envy Kit! If you're looking for something specific, or have a favorite color that your like to work with, contact Marivic and she'll put together a kit personalized to your specific tastes and needs!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I wish you and yours all the best this holiday season!

Christmas Crackers - Moxxie

Hi! I'm sharing a project that is quick and easy to put together -- festive party crackers -- for Moxxie today. I'm using this set to wrap some small stocking stuffers, but these fun favors are great for any special occasion, and with the extensive line of Moxxie patterned papers, easy to personalize to suit any need!

The high quality of Moxxie paper makes it ideal for off-the-page projects like this. The double-sided designs ensure that both the outside and the inside of this packaging looks fantastic!

Step One: Cut the party cracker template from a piece of cardstock or thin cardboard. Trace around the template onto a piece of patterned paper. Three party crackers can be cut from one piece of 12x12 patterned paper.

Step Two: Cut the party cracker from the patterned paper.

Step Three: Using a craft knife, cut the slits into the patterned paper, down the right side of the cracker, that will hold the tabs on the left side of the paper.

Step Four: Fold the top edge of the patterned paper down to cover the middle segment of the cracker. Hint: The tabs on the left hand side of the cracker should line up. Using scissors, cut small triangles from the folded top edge of the cracker. Note: Cutting pieces of paper from between the cracker segments will allow the cracker to seal in the prize contents in a pleasing way that does not wrinkle the patterned paper.

Step Five: Fold the bottom edge of the patterned paper up to cover the middle segment of the cracker. Hint: The tabs on the left hand side of the cracker should line up. Using scissors, cut small triangles from the folded bottom edge of the cracker.

Step Six: Roll the paper to create a tube, inserting the tabs through the slits. Tuck a prize into the middle of the cracker. Cut two pieces of ribbon measuring 16-inches and tie the two ends of the cracker shut.

Chocolate Love Mini Album - Berry71Bleu

Hi! I'm sharing a second project for the December Joy Challenge for Berry71Bleu today. I started with patterned papers from the gorgeous UHK Gallery Tropical Fruits Collection and put together a fun mini album to hold my favorite dessert recipes. I love chocolate and baking. Sharing homemade treats with my family and friends brings me so much joy!

I used one of Marivic's stunning handmade tags. The chocolate tag is the perfect topper for my mini album as many of my favorite sweet treats include some type of chocolate! If you're looking to try a fantastic cookie recipe for the holidays, I highly recommend this Chewy Chocolate Gingerbread Cookie!

Here are all the challenge details:
We have a two-part challenge this month. This time of year is perfect to reflect on the past and to look forward to what is yet to come. It's a season for being thankful, to surround yourself with loved ones and to enjoy the simple pleasures life has to offer.

Many call this the "most joyous time of the year." With this in mind, the December challenge is simply: Joy. What brings you Joy? What always puts a smile on your face? Joy can be interpreted in many ways. Think about what person, place, activity, pet, hobby or simple pleasure gives you joy. This can be anything--that first warm cup of morning coffee, reading your favorite book, your family, your dog cuddling up next to you! Think outside of the box.

The second part of this challenge is that you must include journaling. Your journaling must be at least 3 sentences or more. Jotting down places and dates do not count. Document your thoughts and explain why the subject you chose to scrap brings you joy.

Here's the challenge board to bring you some inspiration.

Magic of Christmas - Quick Quotes

Hi! The NEW Quick Quotes Treasure Chest Collection is a fun way to mix up your holiday crafting if you're looking to create projects in hues other than the traditional red and green holiday color palette. I'm loving the purple and grey patterned papers! I created this page using one of my favorite Christmas photos, my nephew and his bulldog laying under the Christmas tree waiting for you know who, for Quick Quotes.

I tied a big bow across the page, pulling the center up through an empty slide that comes in so many of the Club Q Kits. It reminded me off a belt buckle. I cut a small square from the Treasure Chest 300 patterned paper and tied it up with string to create a small present embellishment.

I found a fantastic vellum quote, that I'm using here as a long title for my page, in the Quick Quotes Sentiments Bundle.

I finished my page with a some black rhinestones and glittery snowflakes.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
