A Lovely Rose - Meg's Garden

Hi! I'm sharing another Winter themed layout using the gorgeous Butterfly Garden collection for Meg's Garden today. The cool blues and purples present on these beautiful papers are perfect for documenting the colder months of the year.

I cut images from the Butterfly Cut and Create Ephemera Sheet and layered them between sheets of 6x6 patterned paper from the Butterfly Collection Mini Pack to build up a colorful base to mount my photo on.

I created a small embellishment from fussy cuts, a flower, which I colored with mist, and a metal filigree from the Temptations in Blue Embellishment Bundle.

These beautiful butterflies appear on several of the patterned papers in this collection. I cut them out and added a coat of glitter to the wings.

I cut this sentiment from the Butterfly Cut and Create Ephemera Sheet for use as the title of this page.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sea Shell Gift Cases - Canvas Corp

Sea Shell Gift Case Tutorial by Dana Tatar

Hi! I'm sharing a project tutorial that I created for Canvas Corp today. I always collect shells when I visit the beach. I had a lot of fun using some of my favorite finds to create gift cases. These small cases are the perfect way to deliver a gift to a fellow beach lover. Try tucking a strand of pearls, an engagement ring or keys to a new beach bungalow inside these natural containers to help make an occasion extra special.

Step 2: Using a power drill, drill two small holes into the back edge of each shell. Tie two shells together with Jute Rope Cord to create one gift case. Repeat the process with the other four shells.

Step 3: Wrap a small gift in White Tissuestock and place inside a shell case. Cut a length of Canvas Fringe and wrap around a shell case. Next, cut a length of White Cord, wrap the cord around the shell case and tie into a bow. For a more masculine look, cut a length of Burlap Fringe and wrap around a shell case. Next, cut a length of Jute Rope and knot it around the shell case.

Love Arch - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing an arch I created for the Arches Challenge this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I used one layer from the Triple Arch Layered Frame for this project. The Triple Arch Layered Frame consists of 3 layers plus the back panel. This frame is perfect for layering up stamped images to create a 3D art as well as displaying deeper items. The 4 layers require gluing to make a frame approximately 9mm deep. The inner cut arches are retained with the product and can be used either in conjunction or as additional projects, which is how I will use them.

I painted the arch with a gold paint pen and backed it with patterned paper. I topped the frame with flowers, lace and a butterfly to match the crown on the girl in the digital image, which I found in the Gecko Galz Esty Shop.

http://www.tando-creative.co.uk/catalog/triple-arch-layered-frame-p-463.html

You can find the Triple Arch Layered Frame in the Tando Creative Retail Store. We'd love to have you join the Arches Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. C'est Magnifique March Kit Projects

Hi! I'm sharing the projects that I created with the March Kits from C'est Magnifique. I used the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On and Magnifique Mixed Media Kit on each of the projects that I am sharing today.

This first layout is of my sister on her wedding day. The elegant papers in the Kaisercraft Betsy's Couture collection were perfect for this photo of my sister in her beautiful gown.

I layered patterned papers, product packaging and acetate under the photo. The mini burlap bows, grommets and gem dots are such fun embellishments!

I used a stencil with the Antique Mocha paint included in the Mixed Media Kit to add a print to the background of my page. I added a pop of color with Lindy's Stamp Gang Maidenhair Fern Green Mist. I love the mix of flowers and leaves in the Flower Add-On. I used that here to make a small flower cluster.

For my second layout I went in a masculine direction and used an old photograph of my Grandfather.

I used the Prima Turquoise Stone Chalk Edger from the February Kit with a stencil to add some color the the background of this page. I used a watermark ink re-inker with a paintbrush to add watermark ink over the roman numerals on the patterned paper and then heat embossed them with the Metallic Copper Embossing Powder from the Mixed Media Kit.

I used a vacation photo from a trip to New Orleans for this layout. I think the old cemeteries there are so beautiful! I played up the sepia tones in the photo by pairing it with brown and cream patterned papers. The pale blue ribbons and die-cuts in the kit were the perfect way to add some subtle color to the page.

One of my favorite items in the kit is the piece of adhesive cork paper. I used a doily die to cut a decorative pattern from the cork sheet. The cork paper cuts extremely well and adds great texture to my page.

I topped the stained wood flower buttons from the Embellishment Add-On with gem dots for a touch of sparkle.

I used another photo of my sister on her wedding day for this layout. Her shoes were so beautiful that they deserve to be remembered in a special way!

I used a stencil with the C'est Magnifique Tuscan Teal Paint from the Mixed Media Kit to add a bright blue floral pattern the my page. I used the Metallic Copper Embossing Powder from the Mixed Media Kit on the piece of Blue Fern chipboard from the Embellishment Add-On.

I fussy cut this vintage lady from a piece of Betsy's Couture patterned paper. I topped her hat with some feathers from the Mixed Media Kit.

I had a blast creating this colorful cover for the mini album from the Mixed Media Kit. I spritzed the Newspaper Resist Canvas with Lindy's Stamp Gang Maidenhair Fern Green Mist. I added texture by mixing whipped spackle with C'est Magnifique Tuscan Teal Paint and spreading that over a stencil.

The small chipboard piece along the bottom edge of the album is from the Blue Fern Studios Ornate Shelf. I painted it with the Aztek Mocha paint and topped it with a gem dot.

I have really enjoyed playing with this kit! If you are interested in the March Kit or Add-Ons a limited amount of kits are available for purchase from the C'est Magnifique Store while supplies last! Make sure to stop by here on the 28th for the full March Kit reveal.

I have one more layout to share for the March Sketch Challenge reveal on March 1st.

Bleed Out Your Heart Canvas - Gauche Alchemy

Hi! I'm sharing a canvas I created for Gauche Alchemy today. In addition to the snarky February Challenge Board, I was also inspired by lyrics written by Ian Thornley from the song Wolves by Big Wreck.

I covered a metal heart with embossed metal tape and then went to town with mist, ink and paint. I heated the ink on the heart until it bubbled for a grungy finish and then wrapped it with some hammered metal strips.

I added beads, mica flakes and glitter to the background for some fun texture. I typed out the heartwarming sentiment onto black tape with a label maker.

Be sure to visit the Gauche Alchemy Blog this month to see how my fellow Alchemists have interpreted this challenge.

Take whatever inspires you from the board, twist it, torture it, love it, whatever your creative little hearts desire and then share it with us on our LINKY PARTY! We’ll choose our favorite creation and announce them next month! Remember, we don’t exclude or discriminate so any kind of crafty project goes as long as you are the creator!

I've included the Big Wreck Wolves video for your listening pleasure. This album would be an amazing gift for your sweetheart! ;)

Be Happy ATC - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing an ATC that I created for the Cover With Paper Theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog today. I covered both the Artist Trading Card and the piece of Round Grid with a grainy tissue paper. I then added color with Gelatos, ink and paint. I topped the layers of chipboard with a stamped bee, that I colored with watercolor pencils and a coat of Distress Stickles. I finished the card with a simple sentiment.

Winter Visiter - Meg's Garden

Hi! I'm thrilled to be sharing my first project as a Meg's Garden designer! It is the middle of Winter here in the USA and I'm trying to keep warm. The end of my backyard borders a small forest that is home to all types of wildlife and I frequently look out my windows to watch birds and a small group of foxes. This gorgeous fox has been my most frequent visitor. Seeing him is always a special treat!

The cream, blue and grey tones of the patterned papers from the Butterfly Garden Collection were perfect for a Winter layout. I selected the Another Delicate Garden for Butterflies patterned paper for the base of page. The 4x12" strips of patterned papers and the Cut and Create Ephemera Sheets are fantastic for building up layers on a layout. I used the A Flower Garden for Butterflies 4x12 Strip and the Butterfly Cut and Create Ephemera Sheet here. I decorated the area surrounding my photo with the Temptations in Blue Embellishment Bundle.

I wanted to play up the Winter theme of this page, so I die-cut a couple of snowflakes from a 6x6 piece of The Butterfly Garden At Night patterned paper from the Butterfly Collection Mini Pack.

I finished the layout by highlighting the layers of patterned papers with a pearl pen.
