Secret Door ATC - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing an ATC for the Anything Goes theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I had some fun with a Small Straight Edged Arch, an Artist Trading Card, small elements from the Tando Mini Range, and some digital collage images and papers from Gecko Galz to create this Valentine's Day Card for my sweetheart.

I covered the front of the Artist Trading Card with the Huntsman patterned paper from the Gecko Galz Ever After Digital Paper Pack. I then covered a Small Straight Edged Arch with a door from the Gecko Galz Behind Door #1 Digital College Sheet. I carefully cut a door opening between the base arch and the arch frame so that the door can open, revealing a secret message.

I used a piece of clip art from the new Gecko Galz Valentine Wishes Digital Collage Set. I made a "door knob" out of a Heart Button from the Buttons Grab Bag and a girl from the Mini People Set. I colored both pieces with acrylic paint, glued them together, and then glued them to the front of the door as a small handle.

I finished this card with a black pen and some gold dimensional paint.

You can find the pieces I used for this card and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to see what you create for our Anything Goes! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. You don't have to use any Tando product, but, if you do, you will be entered into the draw twice! There are no limits to how many times you enter, however, we do request that you only enter your piece for 5 challenges. We look forward to seeing your creations!

Just Plain Fun! - Stuck?! Sketches

Hi! It's time for the mid-month reveal at Stuck?! Sketches! I took my girls and their cousins to Airtime over Thanksgiving break and everyone had a blast. My Sister-In-Law took this photo of my daughter Claire in midair. Claire's athleticism amazes me. I so wish that I could bend in half like this!

The decor was orange and grey, so I matched that color palette for this layout. I built up layers of patterned paper and fun embellishments under my photos. I used a Creative Embellishments Film Strip Picture Frame, which I embossed in bright orange, to highlight one of my photos. I also used the Creative Embellishments Binary Stamp with grey chalk ink to add a subtle pattern to the background of the page.

Trampolines and counting always seem to go together so I included numbers in my design. I used patterned paper, die-cut stickers, paper dots, plastic doilies and foam words to create my title spot.

Here's the sketch if you'd like to play along. I rotated the sketch one click to the right for my design.

I hope you can find the time to join us this month! Visit the Stuck?! Sketches Blog to see what the rest of the designers have created. We have two amazing sponsors for this challenge; Creative Embellishments and Scrapmatts.

To enter for a chance to win, link your layout up in the right sidebar of the Stuck?! Sketches Blog by January 30th. All prizes winners are selected randomly using Random.org. When linking your layouts, please make sure it is linked to the specific post your layout is in, not your blog as a whole, as it can be hard later in the month to find your layout. You can also link from any gallery including Flickr or Facebook, but we may not be able to comment. Feel free to combine this sketch with no more than one other non-sketch challenge. Please include a link back to Stuck?! Sketches on your blog entry for our challenge.

Brand New - Baby Elephant Card - Tando Creative

Hi friends! I'm sharing a card that I created to welcome a new baby for the Card Challenge this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I covered an elephant from the Elephant Bunting Set with patterned paper and lightly sanded the edges for a soft finish. (There are 8 elephants in the bunting set, so I still have 7 more to embellish!) I painted the chipboard eye with white acrylic paint and then colored the eye lashes black with a marker. To add a bit of whimsy to my design, I attached a google eye to the top of the painted eye piece.

Once the elephant was assembled, I glued it to a card base of layered cardstock. I added a piece of flair with the sentiment "brand new," and made it into a balloon by attaching a piece of string between the flair and the elephant trunk. I finished this card with a red heart for a pop of color.

You can find the pieces I used for this card and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to see what you create for our Card Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. January Gecko Galz Projects

Hi! I'm sharing the January projects I created for Gecko Galz today. I've started making some Valentine's Day crafts. The Gecko Galz Pretty Portraits Digital Collage Sheet is perfect for crafts in the romantic style. I layered a metal heart tin that I painted red on top of a heart die-cut. I then added flowers, trim, glitter, roses, and a Gecko Galz image. I finished this piece with a chipboard sentiment and ribbon loop so it can hang. I think this project would look great around the neck of a bottle of wine or bottle of perfume.

I created this tag using the a floral stamp from the Spring Gems Digital Stamp Set. I colored the flowers with watercolor pencils then cut the image down to fit a small tag. I used a white gel pen on a chalkboard sticker to write the sentiment "Think Spring."

I created this layout using some paper scraps and embellishments that were left on top of my table. The gorgeous black and gold patterned paper under the image is from the Gecko Galz High Society Digital Paper Pack. I used an image from the Snow Queen Digital Collage Sheet for the focal point of this layout.
I created this Cleopatra Notebook for the Gecko Galz January "All That Glitters" Customer Challenge. We'd love to have you join our challenge this month! There is only one rule, and that is you need to use at least ONE product from Gecko Galz. It can be one of the free products, stamps, collage images, or digital papers. The winner will receive a $25 Gecko Galz Shopping Spree! You can read more about my notebook HERE. You can find more information about the challenge and see the inspirational pieces my fellow Gecko Galz created HERE.

I created this key chain with a free stamp that I found on Donna's Blog. Each month, every Gecko Gal shares are FREE digital stamp, so be sure to visit our personal blogs! All you need to create a similar key chain is a clear fragment, a digital stamp and some glaze. Once I printed my stamp, I simply added a small drop of glaze over the image and pressed the clear fragment down on top to seal the paper to the back of the fragment. Once the glaze was dry, I trimmed the excess paper from the fragment.

Here is the free digital stamp I have for you this month. I hope you use it to create something fantastic!

Great Dreams ATC - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing the Artist Trading Card I created for the Color Theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I was inspired by both the beautiful color pallet and photograph of flowers on the inspiration board.

I covered an Artist Trading Card with a piece of dark denim. I then applied whipped spackle over the Giovanna Doily Stencil to add a layer of texture. I topped the design with a white vellum flower and two small leaves, which I colored with chalk ink, from the Mini Leaves 3 set. I finished this card with a Mini Butterfly and a rub-on sentiment.

You can find the pieces I used for this project and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to see what you create for our Color Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. 52 Lists Project Journal - Clearsnap

The ink for this project was supplied by Clearsnap

Hi! I'm sharing a peek inside my new journal on the Clearsnap blog today. I purchased The 52 Lists Project journal and I am really excited to document more of myself this year. The last time I wrote in a journal was nearly 8 years ago when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter. I'm great at recording the lives of my children, but rarely make the time to jot down my own thoughts. One of my goals this year is to write more about myself and this journal will be a helpful tool. I share some quick and easy ways to add color to your journal pages on the Clearsnap blog.

All Grins - Stuck?! Sketches

Happy New Year! It's reveal day at Stuck?! Sketches and we're starting off the year right with another fantastic sketch. I used the October Afternoon Under the Tree collection for this page. Although this line is a Christmas collection, I think it works fabulously for those everyday photos. The wood grain, plaid, and hounds tooth patterned papers caught my eye and I'm looking forward to using this collection all year long!

This cutie is my Nephew. He isn't much for big smiles, so if you can capture a grin it's a big win! I splattered the background with white ink and then added some glitter flourish stickers that I have had in my stash forever. I then built up layers of patterned papers, die-cuts, and stickers for a photo mat.

I always reach for the burlap embellishments when I'm designing masculine pages, so I added two burlap stars for texture.

Here's the sketch if you want to play along. For more inspiration, visit the Stuck?! Sketches Blog to see what the rest of the designers have created. We have two amazing sponsors for this challenge; Wycinanka and ScrapMuch.

Cleopatra Album - Gecko Galz

Happy New Year! I'm super excited to share my first project of the new year! I altered this notebook for the Gecko Galz January Customer Challenge. The challenge theme this month is "All That Glitters." I automatically think "is gold" after those three words, so I knew that I wanted to include gold on my project. My daughter is learning about Ancient Egypt in school and is fascinated with Cleopatra, so I made this notebook for her.

I cut an Ankh out of cardboard, glued it to the front cover of my album, and then applied a layer of gold foil over the top.

I used images from the Gecko Galz Cleopatra Digital Collage Set. I framed a digital image with turquoise cardstock. After securing the photo to the album cover I embellished with gems, a flower, a coin and a sticker title.

I embellished this digital paper border with dimensional paint and fringe ribbon. I finished the album cover by adding metallic trim binding.

We'd love to have you join us this month! There is only one rule, and that is you need to use at least ONE product from Gecko Galz. It can be one of the free products, stamps, collage images, or digital papers. The winner will receive a $25 Gecko Galz Shopping Spree!
