A Joyful Halloween - Pion Design

Happy Halloween! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the NEW The Witching Hour collection from Pion Design. I am absolutely thrilled that Pion has designed a Fall/Halloween line featuring traditional Halloween patterns and images in the perfect October color palette. This collection is a must-have for every crafter, whether you plan on documenting your children’s trick-or-treating or a family day at the pumpkin patch.

My brother and his family always have fantastic Halloween costumes. This is my brother and niece on Halloween two years ago. You can never go wrong with Tim Burton inspired costumes!

As always with Pion collections, there are plenty of tickets, tags, and borders to cut and layer.

This winged pocket watch is one of my favorite images. You can check out the full collection HERE.

Haunted House - Pion Design

Hi! I'm sharing a haunted house I created for Pion Design today. One of my favorite pastimes on Halloween night is to watch scary movies. All of my favorite thrillers feature a spooky haunted house or hotel. I had a great time altering a chipboard house using the new The Witching Hour collection. I’m loving this piece of creepy decor. There is room for an electric tealight on the back side of the house, so it glows in the dark!

I cut this girl from the Images from the Past sheet that coordinates with this collection. I created a sign using a wood stick and little bits cut from the Borders and Tags patterned papers.

I decorated the porch with a pile of bones, fallen leaves, spiders, and cobwebs. I created the tree with some sticks from my yard. I would definitely stay far away from this house if it was on my street!

Boo Card - Pion Design

Hi! I created this card using the NEW The Witching Hour collection for Pion Design. I really love how the elegantly design papers in this line can be used to create hauntingly beautiful projects.

The accordion fold of this card design allows plenty of room and opportunity for embellishment.

The dark grave yard scene was the perfect backdrop for this layered mummy sticker.

I added a fun mix of flowers and ribbon for a pop of color. You can view the entire The Witching Hour collection HERE.

Hello and welcome to the Gecko Galz 6th Annual Blog Hop! There are 16 AMAZING blogs for you to visit this weekend, each with some gorgeous projects created using the Gecko Galz Collage Sheets that we are giving away for FREE! Each blog you visit will have another free Gecko Galz Collage Sheet for you to download. The Collage Sheet I used for my projects is the "She is so Lovely," which is available at the bottom of this post.

I made 6 easel fold cards using the "She is so Lovely" Collage Sheet, the Gecko Galz Pocket Full of Posies Digital Paper Pack, the 7 Gypsies Poses and Reflections patterned paper, cardstock, a handful of chipboard stickers, lace tape, and flowers. The design for each card is similar, which makes creating a number of them quick and easy in an assembly line fashion. I used this tutorial as a guide to create my cards.

Gecko Galz Merci Bouquet Digital Patterned Paper from the Pocket Full of Posies Paper Pack.

Gecko Galz Posies Digital Patterned Paper from the Pocket Full of Posies Paper Pack.

Gecko Galz Miss Muffet Digital Patterned Paper from the Pocket Full of Posies Paper Pack.

Gecko Galz Tisket Tasket Digital Patterned Paper from the Pocket Full of Posies Paper Pack.

Gecko Galz Little Boy Blue Digital Patterned Paper from the Pocket Full of Posies Paper Pack.

Gecko Galz Sixpence Digital Patterned Paper from the Pocket Full of Posies Paper Pack.

I also created 2 tags using the two small square images from the collage sheet and a mix of both new and old Gecko Galz digital images and papers in a Fall color palette

For this first tag, I covered a cardstock tag with a piece of Misplaced Words patterned paper from the Nevermore Digital Paper Pack. I then added layers with a crossword puzzle and tickets cut from the Alter Me Digital Collage Set. I covered a paper envelope with a sentiment cut from the Scripted Digital Collage Set.

I matted an image from the She Is So Lovely Digital Collage Sheet and tucked it behind the envelope. To finish, I embellished the tag with paper leaves and flowers, lace, ribbon, and a metal butterfly.

For this second tag, I covered a cardstock tag with a piece of Misplaced Words patterned paper from the Nevermore Digital Paper Pack. I then added layers with images cut from the Alter Me Digital Collage Set and an image from the Darling Dragonflies Digital Collage Set to the tag.

I placed an image from the She Is So Lovely Digital Collage Sheet at the top left corner of the tag. To finish, I embellished the tag with paper leaves and flowers, lace, ribbon, and a chipboard sentiment.

Spooky Halloween Tag - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a Halloween tag for the Spooky theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I used a coffin from the Pair of Skeletons set as a sturdy base for this tag. I covered the chipboard with black crackle paint and then a layer of Stampendous Spoonful of Midnight. (This was the first time I used the Spoonful of Midnight and I absolutely love the multicolored sparkle! It will be hard not keep this wonderful medium off of all my projects!) I added a pop of color with some orange roses and green and purple leaves. I then topped the coffin with a skeleton.

I punched a hole in the top of the coffin and added a stenciled black cardstock tag under the coffin and a length of chain with a metal charm and Mini Skull to further embellish the top of the tag.

I finished this piece with a piece of bright purple lace and a spooky brad.

You can find the chipboard I used for this project, and a wonderful selection of Stampendous products, in the Tando Creative Retail Store.

Honey Bee Arch - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing an arch I created for the Anything Goes theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I created a honey comb from the Gothic Arch Layered Frame and a piece of Round Grid. I covered the back panel and four frames of the Gothic Arch and a piece of Round Grid first with DecoArt White Gesso and then with a coat of DecoArt Primary Yellow Fluid Acrylic Paint. Once dry, I distressed the pieces with DecoArt English Red Oxide Antiquing Cream.

Next, I added some stamping, embossing and some acrylic paint highlights in blue. I then glued the frame together and wrapped the edge with floral fabric tape.

I added some Tom Petty song lyrics with Dymo tape, some teal star sequins and a real bee that my friend found in her yard. (I hope I'm not the only person who loves to be gifted with insects to use on my art projects!) I finished this piece by filling in the frame with resin.

You can find the chipboard I used for this project, and a wonderful selection of DecoArt products, in the Tando Creative Retail Store.

Baby Girl Tag - FabScraps

Hi! I'm sharing the tag I created with the NEW Sweet Baby collection for FabScraps today. One of my favorite features of this collection is the coordinating chipboard and die-cut pieces. This vintage pram and animal block die-cuts are sitting on top of identical shaped pieces of chipboard. These matching pieces really give my projects some fun dimension. The clear stickers and metal embellishments offered from FabScraps are fantastic, and help with those special finishing touches.

If you need to create some pieces for a little bundle of joy, you'll want to be sure to view this full collection. If you're interested in the full supply list and/or instructions for this card, please stop by the FabScraps blog.

So Proud Shaker Journal - FabScraps

Hi! I'm sharing a shaker journal I created with the NEW Sweet Baby collection for FabScraps today. I'm absolutely loving the precious designs on these patterned papers. This line has me reminiscing on all the milestones I celebrated with my daughters. I thought it would be fun to create a journal with plain white pages to record some special moments without the stress of filling out page after page of detailed information.

This star-shaped punch-out on the journal cover was just begging for some attention, so I created a small shaker feature with some product packaging, sequins and images I cut from the patterned papers.

I embellished the chipboard simply with chalk ink and glaze.

I embellished the corners of the pages of this journal with precious images cut from the patterned papers and clear stickers. There's plenty of room left to record those special moments.

If you'd like the full supply list and/or instructions for this journal, please stop by the FabScraps blog.

October Gecko Galz Projects

Hi! I'm sharing the projects I created this month for Gecko Galz today. I used a mix of both new and old Gecko Galz digital images and papers in a Fall color palette. I had a lot of fun mixing different sets to create a trio of tags.

For this first tag, I covered a cardstock tag with scraps of ribbon and lace, and half of a cardstock ticket. I then added a forest scene and a fox to the tag that I cut from the Fall into Nature Digital Collage Set. I finished this tag with orange flowers, leaves, and berries, and a sticker sentiment.

For this second tag, I covered a cardstock tag with images cut from the Alter Me Digital Collage Set. I then added an image from the Darling Dragonflies Digital Collage Set to the top of the tag. I tucked a paper ticket and canvas tag behind those images.

I then added a sentiment that I cut from the Scripted Digital Collage Set. To finish, I embellished the tag with flowers, twine, and ribbon.

For my final tag I selected an image from the Ethereal Beauties Digital Collage Set to use as the focal point. I mounted the image in the center of a frame. I secured the layered image onto a cardstock tag and added bits and pieces of lace and ribbon.

I then added a sentiment that I cut from the Scripted Digital Collage Set. To finish, I added paper flowers and a lace butterfly.

I created this altered wood spool for the Fall into Autumn October Customer Challenge. You can read more about this project HERE.

Lastly, I created a card with a portion of the free stamp I have to give away this month. I used a piece of digital paper from the Royals Paper Pack. I tucked a word search from the Alter Me Digital Collage Set behind the digital stamp. I sandwiched a piece of vellum between the two digital prints for a more muted effect.

Here's the free stamp. I hope you use it to create something fantastic!
