Orange is my absolute favorite color of mist to use on my projects, so I was thrilled to open my box from Scrapbook Steals and find a bottle of Studio Calico Mister Huey's Color Mist in Sunset! This orange really packs a punch and I had a blast creating my projects. I have a trio of artist trading cards to share today.

To create the background for this ATC, I spritzed the mist onto a craft mat and gently pressed a piece of sticky-back canvas onto the mist.  Some areas of mist were heavier than others and I was able to create a cool two-toned colored background using just one color of mist. Also, because the mist was sprayed onto my mat, I had more control over where the color was added on my project.

I had a lot of fun tie-dying a piece of muslin for the background of this ATC.  I poured some of the mist from the bottle (gasp!) into a small tray and dipped my bundled fabric into it.  I'm thrilled with the results.

I used the mist in two different ways for this ATC.  I saturated a piece of muslin with the mist for the base of the background.  I love the deep orange color!  Once that was dry, I mixed a couple drops of mist into some modeling paste and pressed that through a stencil.

I learned these techniques and many more from the class Mists: Not Just Point & Shoot by Heidi Myers available now as a self-paced course from The Art Studio @ Scrapbook News and Review Magazine.

As a way of saying thanks for stopping by today, I'm offering the chance to win a 4x6" Huey's Mask and a set of Heyday Mistable Thickers to anyone who comments on this post.  For those of you who enjoy my work and choose to become a follower of my blog, I'll put your name in a draw to win a seat in Heidi's class! Stop by again on Monday to see if you're a lucky winner. =)

The next stop on the hop is Laurel.  Happy hopping!
