I used the beautiful Tando Minis - Butterflies for this tag. I used one of my favorite butterfly stencils to decorate the base of this tag, which was cut from a piece of cherry wood. I colored two of the mini butterflies with inks, added them to the tag with some adhesive foam for dimension, and added some journaling which reads; May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun and find your shoulder to light on to bring you luck, happiness and riches today, tomorrow and beyond. I added some Stickles to the mini butterfly wings for a touch of sparkle.
The Tando Minis - Butterflies has a wonderful selection of butterflies in several sizes and designs consisting of 24 pieces. They are cut from a lighter weight board that is just over 1mm thick so are ideal for cards and small projects such as ATC's and tags. They could also be used with printer trays or similar styled projects and can easily be embossed.

I've no idea how you 'cut' the butterfly stencil into the cherry wood but I do know that the colours and the effect of the background with the dimensionality of the minis, really make this tag far too good to be 'just' a tag :-) Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI'm now worried my comment seems negative, which wasn't my intent at all. I just think that your stencil looks debossed somehow, so I wondered if you had created that somehow or it's just an illusion. :-)
DeleteHi Diane. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! I used a stencil and Tsukineko VersaColor Cubes to add the large butterflies to my tag. I then outlined the large butterfly segments with Tsukineko Goosebumps, a 3-D type glaze. You have a great eye! The Goosebumps outline is raised, which definitely gives my butterflies a debossed look. =)
DeleteSo pretty, I love butterflies!
