Hi! Welcome to the first day of the Clearsnap and Graphic 45 Blog Hop! I'm sharing the Graphic 45 ATC Book Box that I altered using ColorBox Graphic 45 Decades Dye Inkpads and the Graphic 45 Gilded Lily collection today.
The Decades inkpads feature dye based inks that create a vintage look that is perfect for both everyday distressing and more involved mixed media projects. This dye ink range features signature Graphic 45 colors that coordinate with a variety of Graphic 45 decorative papers. I used Photogenic, Venetian Lace, Bon Voyage Blue and Dark Cashmere Decades Ink on this project in three different ways to stain and age new paper for a more vintage look.
The Graphic 45 ATC Book Box includes three kraft cards and a binder ring, in addition to the box, which were super fun to embellish!
Step 1. Use a ColorBox Stylus Handle and Oval Stylus Tip with the ColorBox Graphic 45 Venetian Lace Decades Ink to add color to the edges of the book box and kraft tags.
Step 2. Attach ribbon to the front and back covers of the book box with hot glue.
Step 3. Apply Bon Voyage Blue Decades Ink to a craft mat, spritz with water, and use a paintbrush to apply the color to the inside box of the book. Let dry.
Step 4. Apply Bon Voyage Blue, Dark Cashmere, Photogenic and Venetian Lace Decades inks onto a craft mat, spritz with water, and dip the kraft tags into the pools of color. Blot the tags with a paper towel between colors. Let Dry.
Once this prep work was finished, I embellished the outside and inside of the book box and the tags with cardstock, Graphic 45 Gilded Lily patterned papers, Graphic 45 Ornate Metal Embellishments, stamping and ribbons, flowers and pearls from my personal supplies. The design possibilities for this piece are endless!
I used the ColoBox Bon Voyage Blue Decades Ink and a ColorBox Foam Tip Stylus to antique the edges of the blue patterned paper on this front cover.
I used ColoBox Bon Voyage Blue Decades Ink and a ColorBox Foam Tip Stylus again to antique the edges of the patterned paper on the back cover. I added some decorative scroll stamping with the ColorBox Dark Cashmere Decades Ink.
I used the ColorBox Dark Cashmere and Venetian Lace Decades inks with a ColorBox Foam Tip Stylus to antique the edges of the patterned paper on this inside spine. The ColorBox Foam Tips and Stylus Handle made blending the ink easy and my fingers stayed clean. (You won't find any inky fingerprints on this project!)
I used the ColorBox Dark Cashmere and Bon Voyage Blue Decades inks with a ColorBox Foam Tip Stylus to antique the edges of the patterned paper on this outside spine. I stamped a decorative frame onto patterned paper using the Dark Cashmere Decades ink and then cut out the image to create a plaque on which I mounted the two small images. I used pieces of scrap cardboard to separate the layers on the spine to add dimension.
Here is a peek inside the box. I kept the design flat and simple, but there is room to build up the inside front cover as the tags do not take up all the space inside the inner box.
