Hi! I'm sharing my take on the new sketch from Stuck?! Sketches. This is one of my favorite Halloween photos of my daughter Claire. I usually scrap it every year! I wanted to use some of my new Halloween goodies, and because I haven't had a chance to snap photos of my daughters in the costumes they will wear this year, I used this favorite photo of my oldest taken several years ago.
I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Jack O'Lantern Orange Embossing Powder with a stamp to add shimmery circles to the patterned paper. I also splattered Lindy's Stamp Gang Mist (Wake Me Up Before You Go Gold, Kissin' Kenickie Coral, Golden Doubloons and Brushed Nickel) in a random fashion over the patterned paper. I then added some black bats with Distress Ink and a stencil. I've had this Want2Scrap Skull Chipboard Album for some time and thought it would be fun to use a couple of the pieces for a creepy photo mat. I painted, inked and stamped the first two pages of the album, separated the layers of chipboard with dimensional adhesive, and attached it to the page.
I embellished the edges of my photo with stickers and chipboard letters.
I decorated the side of the layout with tickets, masking tape and a glitter spider.
Here's Laura's original sketch. I rotated the design one click to the right for my page.
We'd love to see your take on this sketch! For more inspiration, visit the Stuck?! Sketches Blog to see what the rest of the designers have created.
We have two fabulous sponsors for this sketch, Lindy's Stamp Gang and Scrapmatts!
To enter for a chance to win, link your layout up in the right sidebar of the Stuck?! Sketches Blog by October 30th. All prizes winners are selected randomly using
Random.org. When linking your layouts, please make sure it is linked to the
specific post your layout is in, not your blog as a whole, as it can be hard
later in the month to find your layout. You can also link from any gallery
including Flickr or Facebook,
but we may
not be able to comment. Feel free to combine this sketch with no more than one other non-sketch
challenge. Please include a link back to Stuck?!
Sketches on your blog entry for our
challenge.
