I receive products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® as a design team member for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience in sharing what I personally love to use.
Welcome to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® + CardMaker® Magazine Blog Hop and Giveaway! The hop theme is “Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside” which means using various Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products with different mediums to customize your projects. I used 3D Foam Leaves to create a Fall card. I transformed both the positive and negative leaf die-cuts with embossing powder to make an eye-catching shimmery seasonal card with no waste.
I recently used a full sheet of 3D Foam Leaves for a home décor project. I thought the leftover leaf negative was too pretty to not find a way onto a project. A sprinkle of embossing powder and some heat was all it took to transform the excess foam into a fun design element.
First, I cut and folded a card base from patterned paper. Next, I used a rectangle frame die to cut a second piece of patterned paper. After cutting the frame, I rotated the inner rectangle to break up the pattern before adhering both rectangles to the card base with 3D Foam Squares.
To add color to the 3D Foam Leaves, I peeled off the top sheet and then sprinkled on embossing powder. I gently tapped the foam to remove the excess powder and then applied heat to set. Note: I used Ice Resin Iced Enamels. Although this powder is designed to work with metal, I love how it looks on 3D foam shapes! The strong permanent adhesive on the foam eliminates the need for glue and/or embossing ink, which not only saves time, but is less messy too!
To attach the embossed foam to the card, I simply removed the protective backing and pressed it onto the card. I attached a stamped sentiment with Small 3D Foam Squares. To finish the card, I placed embossed 3D Foam Leaves around the sentiment.

Such a great way to use embossing powder. I would have thought the heat setting would have melted the foam, so great to know that it can be done.
