Hi! I'm so excited to be hopping with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Paper House Productions this week! This Glitter * Sparkle * Shine Hop is full of eye-catching projects and fantastic prize packages (6 total!). Today I'm sharing how to create a mini book using patterned papers from the Paper House Productions Color Washed collection and Extreme Double-Sided Tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
I absolutely love the foil accents on the Color Washed patterned papers and stickers. I added a bit more bling to my mini book with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Gold Craft Foil Sheets and Gold Photo Corners. I used less than 2 sheets of 12x12 patterned paper to create this mini book and the 4 tags that fill the inner pockets. I cut, folded, and embellished this mini book in less than an hour.
How to Create a Pocket Mini Book with Tags
1. Cut a sheet of 12x12 inch patterned paper in half to create 2 6x12 inch pieces. Score each piece of paper horizontally 1.5 inches up from the bottom edge of the paper. Next, score each sheet vertically every 3 inches. Fan fold both pieces of paper along the vertical score lines. Fold the bottom edge of each paper up along the horizontal score line.
2. Apply Extreme Double-Sided Tape on either side of the vertical score lines below the 1.5 inch horizontal score line on each piece of paper. Remove the protective liner from the tape, fold the bottom portion of the paper up, and press to secure the tape. This step will create four pockets on each sheet of paper.
3. Use the E-Z Runner Ultra Strong Adhesive to attach the two folded segments of paper together to form one long pocket strip.
The two folded pieces of paper, once attached, measures 24 inches long and has 8 pockets.
4. Die-cut 4 tags from patterned paper to insert into 4 of the folded pockets. Use scissors to cut sentiments and designs from the patterned paper to use as embellishments inside the album.
How to Cut, Fold, and Embellish a Mini Book Cover
1. Cut a piece of patterned paper to measure 4.5 x 6.5 inches. Fold the piece of patterned paper in half. Add score lines on either side of the fold line every 1/8-inch to create a flexible binding. I added 3 score lines on each side of the center fold. Next, apply adhesive through a stencil onto the top right and bottom left corners of the patterned paper.
2. Rub Gold Craft Foil over the adhesive.
4. Use Extreme Double-Sided Tape to attach the foiled piece of patterned paper to the outside of the pocket book to create a book cover.
5. Embellish the front and back covers of the book with stickers.
6. Embellish the inside of the book stickers and designs cut from patterned paper. Attach photos to the tags using Gold Photo Corners.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you. I filled this mini book with vacation photos. There is room for 4 more tags inside the pockets. The back side of the tags would be a great spot of journaling.
