Hi! I'm sharing a set of birthday cards for the month of September that I made for Creative Embellishments today. My Sister and my two Sisters-in-Law all have birthdays this month. I thought it would be fun to create birthday cards using the chipboard Constellations for their zodiac signs. I designed the cards relatively flat so that I could easily send them in the mail. With this clean and simple design, a set of twelve cards, one for each zodiac sign, can be created in almost no time at all.
I used the Bokeh Star Stencil with watermark ink to add a scattering of stars to a piece of galaxy patterned paper. I sprinkled the stenciled stars with white embossing powder and applied heat to set. The different sized stars helped add dimension to the background.
I used Two-Cent Coin Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to color the chipboard Constellations. Mist is one of my favorite mediums to use to add color to chipboard. The chipboard readily absorbs mist for quick, all-over coverage. Once the chipboard constellations dried, I glued each of them onto a portion of the galaxy patterned paper that I embellished with heat embossed stars. Then, I added letter stickers labeling the constellations and a "Happy Birthday" tag to each card. Next, I mounted each system onto a piece of white cardstock for contrast. Finally, I used Crafty Foam Tape to mount each design onto a colored card base.
