Hi! I'm sharing the layout I created for the Creative Embellishments January Challenge today. The challenge this month is to take inspiration from the collage image. The design twist is to add snow.
What a fun and frosty inspiration piece! I was drawn to the soft color palette, snowflakes, and trees. I used a photo I took after a huge snow storm that dropped nearly two feet of snow and left us stranded in our home for over a week.
My daughters had an absolute blast in the snow, which was the most they could ever remember seeing. I stenciled chalk ink snowflakes onto the background of the cardstock I used for the base of this page to add a subtle print to the paper. Next, I assembled a design with lost of fun patterns and stickers.
Lastly, I embellished my layout with the Winter Wonderland Chipboard Title, which includes the fun tree, and Chipboard Snowflakes. I altered all the chipboard the same way, with a base coat of white paint, a thin layer of DecoArt Snow-Tex, and a sprinkling of mica flakes while the mediums were still wet.
