Hi! I'm sharing a set of colorful wood eggs that I created for Clearsnap today. My brother and his family usually visit for the Easter holiday. They are vegan, so we usually have an egg hunt with plastic eggs. While using store-bought eggs are quick and easy, I miss coloring eggs by hand, so this year I picked up a set of wood eggs. I used ColorBox Color Eclipse Mixed Media Ink to color the eggs and Smooch Glitz to add a glittery finish. This simple 2-step process is perfectly safe and easy enough for older kids to create on their own. I used 12 gorgeous shades of ink as-is out of the bottle for my eggs. (The Black, White, and Clear Sealant ColorBox Color Eclipse Mixed Media Ink were not used for this project.) Unlike traditional egg dyeing, this process is odor free and cleans up with soap and water!
How to Color Wood Eggs with ColorBox Color Eclipse Mixed Media Ink
Use a paintbrush to apply Color Eclipse Mixed Media Ink to wood eggs. Use a heat tool to dry the ink.
Brush on Frost Smooch Glitz Sparkle Accent Ink to add a layer of glitter to the colored eggs. Use a heat tool to dry the ink.
Display colored eggs in a centerpiece or use them as embellishments on other craft projects. Try blending and layering different shades of Color Eclipse ink for unique effects. In addition to wood surfaces, try Color Eclipse ink on a variety of metals, both raw and plated; as well as clay, ceramic, glass, and leather.
