Hi! I'm sharing the layout I created for the More Than Words January Main Challenge today. The word inspiration is Highlight. The challenge inspiration is sunset colors. A highlight for me is seeing a favorite band, Big Wreck, play live in a small concert venue in my hometown of Detroit, Michigan. My husband and I have followed this band for over 20 years. We have been extremely lucky to see them on almost every major tour, a total of six times. Their latest album is called "...But For The Sun," and it fits perfectly with this challenge!
I included some song lyrics on the page that read, "You erase my alone and get me through the day." These words really resonated with me and are true of a good partner and great music.
I used a stencil and some molding paste to create a sunburst pattern on a striped transparency. I colored the dry paste with pink, orange, and yellow dye ink. I selected a piece of patterned paper from the Prima Sunrise Sunset collection for the base of the layout.
Then, I added photos and embellishments in the center of the sunburst.
I added touches of gold and glitter to my design to catch the light, similar to the glow of the setting sun.
We want to hear about the HIGHLIGHT of your day, week, year or life! Has there been a birthday to celebrate, a good day spent with a friend or simply an event that made you happy? Maybe the birth of a child or a wedding is a highlight. Maybe it’s a good book or a cup of coffee. We need to see in your project how our word inspired you. If it isn’t obvious in your work, then please explain it in your post. Whatever your highlight is, we want to see it shown off with glorious SUNSET COLORS! Any project is accepted except cards, tags, ATC's and postcards. These are accepted in our Mini Challenges only. You can see the first reveal, from half of our designers, on the More Than Words Challenge Blog.
