Hi! I'm sharing the layout that I created for the September 2020 More Than Words Main Challenge today. The main challenge word is BOOKS and the creative challenge is BOOK PAPER. I love to spend my free time reading BOOKS! I recently devoured Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer, which is part of the Twilight Saga told from vampire Edward Cullen's point of view. I included BOOK PAPER from a dictionary with words that reinforced themes from the book. I also added a quote from Edward. I'm still Team Edward after 15 years! There are two more books planned in this saga and I can't wait to read them.
I found some gorgeous Creative Imaginations patterned papers in my stash that were just perfect for this layout. I always imagine writers toiling away at a typewriter so I used the Creative Embellishments Typewriter Keys Stencil with Art Anthology Red Velvet Dimensional Gel Paint on the base of the page. I reinforced the love theme of this novel by adding love birds cut from patterned paper and some Creative Embellishments Chipboard Heart Pieces that I colored with a paint marker.
Rather than use a photo on this page, I added dictionary pages with definitions that I thought were fitting for the book and a copy of the cover of the novel.
I added a quote from Edward coming out of a typewriter. I was thrilled to find a piece of 7Gypsies patterned paper that included the name Edward in script lettering. I added that over the top corner of the printed quote. If you'd like to add some quotes from this book to your next project, you can find my image and more HERE.
The same piece of patterned paper with the Edward script also had this sentence that was perfect for this layout. Once I had that attached to the page I finished the design with red and black flowers and leaves that I fussy cut from patterned paper.
Many of us love books. Do you have a favorite? Does a grandparent read to your child? Do you know someone getting ready for school? Maybe you'd like to create a special book for yourself. Of course, we can't have book without book paper! Book paper can be fun to add to projects and we want to see it somewhere on yours! Link up your project via the Linky tool on the More Than Words Challenges blog by the end of the month for a chance to win a prize package from one of our generous sponsors.
