Hi! I'm sharing a set of winter themed artist trading coins that I created for Creative Embellishments. I had a lot of fun using different mediums to make these coins look like they are covered in ice and snow. I first primed the solid Artist Trading Coins, and toppers from the Shape Artist Trading Coins, Winter Artist Trading Coins, and Music Artist Trading Coins sets with a coat of matte white spray paint. I like to use spray paint for a smooth finish. Spray paint is also great for applying paint inside small spaces and intricate designs. To give each coin topper a layer of extra sparkle I applied a coat of white or silver ultra fine glitter paint.
I blended shades of blue and grey dye ink onto each solid artist trading coin. Then, I used the Snowflake Stencil with chalk ink to add at least one snowflake to each coin. Once the solid coins were inked and stenciled, I applied a layer of ultra thick embossing powder to each coin and used a heat tool to melt the powder. The result is a thick clear coat that looks a lot like ice.
Once the embossing powder was cool, I added am artist trading coin topper to each solid artist trading coin.
I applied rhinestones and snowflake sequins to the top of each coin.
I also added small sentiment stickers to each coin. To finish each coin, I applied a decorative trim to the edge, either ribbon, pearls, or diamonds. Check out the Artist Trading Coin Section in the Creative Embellishments Store for all the fun design options.
