Happy New Year! I'm sharing a tag that I created to celebrate 2022 for
Creative Embellishments today. I was planning to create a layout, but I'm not a night owl so I didn't get any pictures at midnight. That's OK though, because this stamping technique is super fun and I had a blast embellishing this
Large Acrylic Tag in shades of purple, which is the color of the year.
I started with a Large Acrylic Tag, red and purple alcohol ink, a blending tool with a felt pad, and alcohol ink blending solution. Once the tag was colored, I used the
Grunge Stars Stamp with Archival Dye Ink to add the star print to the tag. This a is technique that essentially removes the alcohol ink from the acrylic. Let the dye ink set for a couple of minutes after stamping and then simply buff the surface of the acrylic with a paper towel. Any color of dye ink can be used for this technique, because the stamped color is removed, leaving a clear print. I tried this technique using Distress Oxide Ink, which is a blend of dye and pigment inks, and it did not work.
I painted two
Number 2 Shaker Sets with white and purple acrylic paint. I filled each shaker with a mix of purple and white sequins and gems.
I used my Dymo tape label maker to create the sentiment New Year New Dreams. I topped the tag with two layers of felt flowers. I wish you all the best for the new year! I hope I have inspired you to try this stamping technique. Thanks for stopping by today!
