Hi! I'm sharing an adorable scrapbook layout featuring my daughter and her love for her snow penguin mold for Creative Embellishments today. She had been not so patiently waiting for snow so that she could create a family of snow penguins in our backyard. I don't think I'll ever get tired of pairing patterned paper with photos, so I was ready to document this event and was almost as excited as she was for the snowfall!
The white space at the top and bottom of the patterned paper was the perfect place to add chipboard borders. I added to word adore, from the Family Word Border Set, along the top edge of the page, and a Heart Ribbon Border along the bottom of the page. Both pieces of chipboard were colored in the same way, first with a coat of red or pink acrylic paint, and then a layer of matching glitter glue for a touch of sparkle.
I find that adding a topcoat of glitter glue helps to hide any imperfections in the paint application.
The Creative Embellishments Store has a large selection of small designs that are perfect for placing around and on top of photos. I used a paint pen to color a Wood Veneer Conversation Heart that I placed in the center of my two pictures.
I like to design with odd numbers, so I framed the red heart in the center of the page with a larger die-cut heart outline. I then added a Pink Acrylic Heart next to printed red heart for a total of three hearts in the center of the page. There are a total of 11 hearts on this layout.
