Chipboard Fruit Scrapbook Layout - Creative Embellishments

Pinkglow Pineapple Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout with Chipboard Fruit Inspired by Carmen Miranda

Hi! I'm sharing a mixed media scrapbook layout that was inspired by Carmen Miranda and her signature fruit turban for Creative Embellishments today. I'm always looking for ways to add color to my grey mid-west winter. I recently spotted a pinkglow pineapple at the grocery store and it was just what I needed to lift my spirits. I used almost all the fruit chipboard pieces I had on this bright and bold page that has me singing "Chica Chica Boom Chic!"

After stenciling the face onto a piece of patterned paper, I applied white acrylic paint to chipboard fruit pieces, leaves, and a butterfly. A white base coat will help to keep the colored acrylic paint vibrant.

I arranged the fruit and leaves around the face. I used 3D Foam Squares in places to add dimension to the page.

I used letter stickers and die-cuts to embellish the space around the photo and finished this page with some handwritten journaling. There is a fantastic selection of fruit designs in the Creative Embellishments Store. I only used about half of the designs on this page.
