Loving This Peacock Scrapbook Layout - Clique International

 

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created for the Clique International August Mood Board Challenge today. I used mainly Paige Evans products from the beautiful Willemstad Base Kit. This base kit is what happens when you love two new collections equally and they just so happen to work brilliantly together. The new Paige Evans Splendid collection and the Vicki Boutin Sweet Rush collection both charm with a cheerful color palette and a combination of bold and just plain pretty designs with infinite potential uses. Travel with us to the deep Caribbean Netherland Antilles where the city of Willemstad on Curacao will delight you with so many brightly colored buildings! Speaking of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (which includes the two provinces of Holland, as many know it for the famous windmills, wooden clogs, and fields of tulips) Paige's collection as always hints of inspiration from European folk art and textiles.

The decorative border on the patterned paper and the background print that I used had me thinking of feathers, which were perfect for documenting the gorgeous peacock I encountered while berry picking at my favorite local farm. I used a feather that I cut from a 49 and Market Ephemera Card for a journaling spot, which I then surrounded with floral die-cuts.

I created a title spot in a similar way as the journaling spot. The dimensional heart embellishment is such a fun way to add layers to a die-cut.
