Halloween Watchlist Folio - Clique International

 

Hi! I'm super excited to share this Halloween watchlist folio that I created for Clique International. This kit is near and dear to my heart because I had a part in creating this amazing seasonal kit! I have been saving a rather large stash of the 7 Gypsies Wicked Gypsy collection for years. I decided it was time that these gorgeous papers were put back out into the crafting community and Gia helped make this happen for me with her creation of the Salem Seasonal Kit. This kit is just one in a new category of kits called Lost and Found, which celebrates recirculated, retired, upcycled, and/or vintage goodies in an eco-conscious way. CLICK HERE for a video flip through.

I love Halloween and I wanted to do something different this year. I usually create a mini album in addition to my regular project life documenting. I thought about participating in October Daily or following an October bucket list, or even making lists or journaling every day this month. I finally decided on creating a Halloween movie watchlist. This project is much more in my wheelhouse. I can sit home in comfort and watch and document horror movies, rather than go outside and interact with people, a task that I find to be much more terrifying!

I used a Tim Holtz Travel Folio for the base of this project that is not included in the kit. This folio also included a travel notebook, which I'm using to document the 31 movies that I'll be watching this month.

I decorated the folio and the travel notebook with patterned papers, ephemera, and embellishments from the kit. I also used 7 Gypsies Wicked Gypsy Ephemera from my stash. I used the Spooky Critters Stickers Add-On Kit to quickly add pops of color and vintage Halloween imagery to the folio and notebook pages.

Each set of two pages in the travel journal is dedicated to one movie. I stamped the date and a star rating system onto the page. I also added pictures of the movie posters. There is about a half of a page left for journaling for each movie. If you're interested in a premade Halloween movie watchlist, this is where I found mine. I combined movies from several lists. I have a couple extra pages in the back of my notebook if I feel like watching a couple more!

The folio pages are behind the space for the travel notebook insert. I had a lot of fun embellishing the tabs!

I used a metal gear and a metal eyelet to create a closure for the two cardboard tabs that fold over the cascading folio tabs. I set an eyelet on the top tab and used Swiss Dot Seam Rayon Binding Ribbon to tie the tabs closed.

I embellished both sides of the folding tabs using patterned papers, die-cuts, stickers, metal embellishments, and Japanese Painter's Tape.

I love the stamped metal tags included in the kit. I used them all on this folio.

I embellished the cascading tabs in a layered collage-style fashion that is so fun to flip through.

I'm not letting any piece of this kit go to waste. The glassine envelope shown above held embellishments. I secured it to the folio as a tag holder.

I was sure to add larger pieces of patterned paper to the folio that could be used as the base for photos. The fun candy corn print is part of The Paper Curator Spooks Kit.

One of my favorite images printed on the Wicked Gypsy papers it this crossword puzzle. You can actually complete it! I stamped in my answers with small alphabet stamps and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Ink.
