Mountain Time Scrapbook Layout - Color Rush Studio

 

Hi! I created this layout for Color Rush Studio. The Old Soul Color Club Collection Kit was just what I needed to document this vacation photo my sister took during a trip to Grand Teton National Park. The neutral papers in this collection make it the perfect base for additional color. I added green and dark grey to the brown and blue papers in the kit.

I used a stencil to extend the background imagery from the photo across the entire width of the page. The mountains and trees were definitely the highlight of the amazing view. I tore the layers of paper on this page, rather than using a paper trimmer, for a more rugged look to match the landscape.

I created my own pocket watch embellishment using the Tim Holtz Pocket Watch Die and a clock face die-cut and cardstock packaging from the kit. I used metal clock hands and a screw brad from my stash to complete the watch. The watch hands actually turn, which adds a fun interactive element to the page.

I used the wood letter tiles from the kit to create the title for this page. I chose the words mountain time to coordinate with the watch embellishment I added to the page, and to literally make a note of the time zone of this beautiful park in Wyoming. Furthermore, I feel like mountain time is also a state of mind. Time moves differently when in a peaceful place like this!

I used a green paint marker to color the wood veneer hearts from the kit. The small pop of green around the page helps to pull the green out of the photo.
