Solar Eclipse Mini Album - Creative Embellishments

 

Hi! I'm sharing a mini album that I created to document the upcoming solar eclipse for Creative Embellishments today. I am super excited to live in the path of totality for this event on April 8, 2024. The last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806 and the next total solar eclipse in Ohio will be in the year 2099. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby obscuring the view of the Sun from a small part of the Earth, totally or partially. This exciting event was the inspiration for this album. I'm planning on hosting some family members, so I know I'll have a lot of great memories to document.

The Camera Mini Album is such a fun design! I covered the lens area of the chipboard cover with a moon covered sun that I pieced together using the sun portion of the Sun and Moon and a design from the Moon Themed Set. I used acrylic paint and paint markers to color the cover of the album.

I covered the inner album pages with patterned paper from the Fancy Pants Frosted Forest collection. A sample set of pages is shown above. I didn't want to add too much ahead of time, but this gives me an idea of what I could do in terms of design for the rest of the album using die-cuts and stickers.
