Vintage School Days Scrapbook Layout - Color Rush Studio

 

Hi! I'm sharing another layout that I created with the January Darling, Sparkle and Shine Kit from Color Rush Studio. There is something about the color palette of this paper collection that has me reaching for vintage photos. This lined patterned paper got me thinking about handwriting lessons during grade school, and this old photo of my aunt from when she was in second grade is just adorable!

I printed two copies of the photo and then embellished with a floral die-cut and glittered butterfly for a contrasting pop of color and texture. Did we all wear the same plaid dress with a big bow for school photos? Some things never change!

While I was removing old family photos from albums and scanning them, I was surprised to find that some of the pictures had my grandmother's handwritten notes on the back. I can't even begin to tell you how much these hidden words mean to me. To have both of our journaling on the same layout makes this page even more special. The addition of a Bold Heart to the photo of my grandmother's note seemed appropriate.

I fussy cut the large Beauty die-cut to look more like handwriting for use as the title of this layout. I also added some distressed stamped numbers and letters to play up the school theme.
