Love You To Pieces Mixed Media Tag - Brutus Monroe

 

Hi! I'm sharing a mixed media tag that I created for Brutus Monroe today. I had a lot of fun creating this tag with pieces of hand-dyed fiber paper, which is similar in texture to a dryer sheet. I'm a tactile crafter, and this tag is fun to look at, but even better to touch!

I used the Heart Rays stencil, Clear Embossing Ink, and Gilded Embossing Powder to heat set golden rays onto the center of a Mixed Media Tag. Then, I applied several shades of Aqua Pigment to a craft mat, spritzed the ink with water, and dipped the tag into the ink to apply color. I repeated this coloring process using Aqua Pigments and Copper Shimmer Chroma Mist to color two pieces of Fiber Paper Sheets. I used the Heart Rays stencil to outline a heart shape onto the fiber paper, which I then cut out and stitched together with floss. Before stitching the heart closed, I added Poly-fil between the layers to create a dimensional embellishment, which I stitched onto the center of the tag. 

I embellished the tag with a stamped sentiment and stamped hearts, which I colored in with a white gel pen. I also added Acrylic Bubbles colored with Chroma Mist, and a hand-dyed ribbon bow.
