Hi! I'm celebrating one of my favorite fall events on this layout that I created for Brutus Monroe. I look forward to trips to the local orchards and farms all year long. The sunflower fields never disappoint. I used a fun mix of both new and older fall themed products. Autumn can't arrive soon enough for me. The temperatures have been in the high 90s all week here!
I built this layout on a piece of Not Your Mamas 130 Lb. Heavyweight Cardstock. This is my preference when working with wet mediums because this cardstock will not wrinkle or warp. I spread the new fall colors of Velveteen Glaze over the Painted Rainbow Stencil to create the stripes of color. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the glaze has an exquisite velvety matte finish that is so fun to touch. I also added some splatters to the base of the page using Linen Aqua Pigment, one of the new fall colors, before setting aside this piece of cardstock to dry. When time allows, I prefer to let glazes air-dry rather than speeding drying up with a heat gun. Air-drying ensures that the medium is dry all the way through, and not just the top layer. The wait time before proceeding to layout assembly was about 3 hours, which gave me plenty of time to create the plaid flower and Fall Foliage die-cut embellishments and heat embossed title.
I created these floral embellishments using the Daisy Cutting Die, a base layer of Alabaster Cardstock, and a top layer of plaid petals cut from the Vintage Plaid Paper Pad. I used a 1-inch circle punch with Phonebook Cardstock to create the flower centers, that I inked with brown dye ink and embellished with Topaz Flat Back Crystals before adding to the flowers.
I filled in the white space around the larger plaid flowers with die-cuts that I created from cardstock using the Fall Foliage Cutting Die Set.
I used Gilded Embossing Powder and the I Love Fall 4x4 Stamp to create a title for the page.

I had some leftover embellishments from this project, so I decided to keep the crafting going and also created a tag!
I used a Jumbo Mixed Media Tag for the base and instead of glaze, decided to use the Plaid Shirt Mixed Media Layering Stencil so that I could skip the drying time.
I applied my leftover embellishments, and a second heat embossed sentiment, and assembled this tag in less than 5 minutes. Easy peasy!
