October Photo A Day MemoryDex Tray - Brutus Monroe

 

Hi! I'm sharing a double memorydex tray that I created for Brutus Monroe today. I'm following along with the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine's Photo A Day prompts for October. I'm in the habit of taking at least one photo a day because I have been keeping project life albums for several years. It was fun to follow a list created by someone else for some fresh ideas. 

I cut off the lid and used my Spooky Friends Halloween Card Kit Box for the base of the tray. I painted the cardboard with black gesso and it really looks like wood! I used wooden dowels that I trimmed to size to support the double row of cards.

I'm sharing about two-thirds of the cards that I created in this post.

I punched cards to fill the tray from Halloween themed paper pads and cardstock. I embellished the cards with products from the Spooky Friends Halloween Card Kit and Add-ons, and the Scoozie’s Halloween Advent Calendar, plus flat back crystals and the new chipboard tombstone tags. 

The back of each card has a photo for the day plus journaling. The patterned paper I used for these cards is double-sided, and once cut, they didn't always look right on the back side. I decided to cover the back of each card with black cardstock for a uniform finish.

I had so much fun with this project! I'm thinking of creating a similar tray for December instead of making an album like I usually do.
