Hi! I was inspired by the Spring Floral Paper Pad, Retro Flowers Layering Stencil, and new Cottonstock Free Style Panels from Brutus Monroe to document a vintage family photo featuring my grandmother with her pet bird Caesar.
I created a large, patterned paper flower for the focal point of the page using the stencil as a reference point. This was such a fun way to use patterned paper!
Hand-colored and cut cottonstock and die-cut, stamped, and stenciled embellishments finish the uplifting scene. What does cottonstock feel like? I'd classify it as a watercolor cardstock with the texture of paper towel. It takes wet mediums very well. I love this sketchy bird so much!
These floral designs are part of the Folk Art Floral Cottonstock Free Style Panels.
