One of my favorite things about the holiday season are the colored lights that can be seen everywhere. Whether decorating a tree or the outside of a home, twinkling lights always catch my eye. I thought it would be fun to try to capture some of that beautiful colored light in a tag!

Overlay or piece of acetate
Step One: Arrange stamps on a stamp block, apply solvent ink, and carefully press the stamps onto the overlay. Let the image dry.
Step Two: Color the stamped image with alcohol inks.
Step Three: Cover one tag with patterned paper. Measure and cut a window for the stamped overlay into both tags. Center the overlay between the windows of the tags and glue the tags together.
Step Four: Using an edge distressor, lightly distress the edges of the tag and apply Distress ink to the edges of the tag.
Step Five: Add festive embellishments to finish the tag.
I modeled this tutorial after a similar tag created by Alda Stevens. If you want to try using memory glass and embossing powder, you can view Alda's tutorial HERE.
