Just Craft ATC - SNR Magazine

How do you like your eggs? After this fun project, I can say 'on my artist trading cards!' The crushed eggshells add a wonderful crackled design and they take color well.

Supplies:
ATC base
Eggshells
Mist
Gesso
Glaze
Glue
Paintbrush

Step One: Brush a light coat of gesso onto an ATC base and set aside to dry. Note: If you would prefer the cracks between the eggshells to be a darker color than the mists, try covering the ATC base with a coat of dark paint.

Step Two: Cover the ATC with a layer of glue and press the eggshells onto the surface of the ATC. Note: Clean the eggshells before applying them to the ATC by boiling a pot of water, removing the pot from heat and soaking the eggshells for several hours. This process will sterilize the shells and aid in the removal of the inner membrane from the eggshells. The inner membrane must be removed from the eggshells or they will not adhere to the glue.

Step Three: Spray the ATC with a liberal coat of mist in several colors.

Step Four: Cover the ATC with a layer of glaze. Once dry, embellish to finish.

Here's a close-up of the eggshell background.  The Radiant Rain mists really catch the light and adding a fabulous sparkle to this piece.

Supplies: ATC Base: Ranger; Stickers: American Crafts; Mist: Creative Imaginations; Glaze: JudiKins; Ink: Ranger; Other: Eggshells, flower
