In Color - Scrapjacked Studio

Supplies:
Paper: Paper Trunk
Butterflies: Darice
Thread: Iris
Paint: Creative Inspirations

It's reveal day at the Australian Scrapjaked Studio!  Our first jack with the new format is a gorgeous piece created by Natalie May. Natalie has joined the design team, so you'll be able to see her fabulous work every month!

I love the flowers and the color on Natalie's layout and used that for my inspiration.  I started with a piece of black and white patterned paper and then painted the flowers.  I added some dimension with hand stitching and a pair of butterflies.  My journaling reads; I see the world in black and white, but I dream in color.

There are so many many ways to take inspiration from one layout. It could be the color, design, technique, title elements, it is your stepping stone so to speak, to try something new, to adapt it to your style, to break you out of your rut, but mostly to have a little fun. I hope you're feeling truly inspired to go pick some paper and glue and get creating over the next couple of weeks. Remember to upload your takes on this jack to the email or leave a comment on the blog with a link. You have until the end of the month to share your work.  We can't wait to see your jack!
