Bird Canvas Album - Paper Wings Productions

Tea Dyed Stamped Canvas Mini Album by Dana Tatar for Paper Wings Productions

I'm thrilled to be sharing a project for Paper Wings Productions today! I enjoyed working with the Bird Melange Cling Stamp Set so much for my Blog Hop piece that I decided to use the set again for this 3x3 canvas album, which also has a bird theme.

I added color to my canvas pages with Faber-Castell Gelatos. I scribbled Gelatos directly onto my craft mat, spritzed with water, blended with my finger, and then gently pressed my pages into the puddles of color. To help the canvas pages absorb color, I lightly spritzed each page with water before I dipped them into the Gelato solutions. Once the color was to my liking, I steeped a tea bag in hot water and then added several drops of tea to each page, which helped to give my bright new canvas pages an aged feel.

After my pages were dry, I stamped the text, bird and feathers for my short story with Archival Ink.  All the stamps used for this project are from the Bird Melange Cling Stamp Set, except for the feather, which I borrowed from the Holiday Mix It Up Clear Stamp Set.

Thanks for joining me on my first flight today! Be sure to stop by the PWP Blog for more inspiration from my fellow design team members. If you're interested in purchasing some of these fabulous stamps, visit the Paper Wings Productions Store to browse the full collection of stamps and kits.

I'm also entering this album in the Berry71Bleu January Challenge - Celebrate Me. The challenge this month is to make something about yourself. What a great way to start the year, right? This album says a lot about me. I'm painfully shy and introverted and I prefer to do things by myself. This year, one of my goals is to put myself out there a little more...to fly where everyone can see me. Here is the photo collage I used for inspiration.

I love this color palette! There are some yummy prizes up for grabs this month from 13 @rts and the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop!

Until next time,
Dana
