I'm sharing a layout featuring two of my favorite sweethearts that I created with the Moxxie XOXO collection. This line is perfect for Valentine's Day crafting, but also works will for any page that is filled with love and an everyday photo like the one I used.
I love cutting design elements from patterned papers and using them to create embellishments for my pages. Photo charms like these are fun and easy to make with just a few simple steps.
Step One: Cut the desired amount of locks from the B-side of the Soul Mate Right (XO-1071) patterned paper. Using detail scissors or a craft knife, remove the center of each lock and the pink background paper from the lock handle, creating a heart charm.
Step Two: Cut a small photo to fit inside each heart. Note: I used a wallet size photo above.
Step Three: Glue photos to the back of each heart charm. Optional: Use 3D Crystal Lacquer to highlight the screws and braided handle of each charm. Note: This lacquer creates wonderful 3D effects and the needle tip allows precise application.
Here is what my charm looks like after I highlighted select areas with the lacquer.
Step Four: Apply a thin coat of the lacquer over the entire surface of each charm and set aside to dry. The areas that I highlighted in Step Three have more lacquer, and therefore more dimension, than if I would have only applied a single coat of glaze to my charms. Note: Any glaze could be used for this step to seal the charms.
Before I go, I wanted to mention another favorite piece from this collection.
Two pieces of patterned paper from this collection feature this fabulous banner heart design. The XOXO Rub-Ons come with 5 sentiments that fit perfectly inside this banner! With expressions like "My Luv," "Only U," "Be Mine," "Sweet," and "XOXOXO," these banner are fun and easy to personalize.
