I had a lot of fun making this card! I incorporated a new technique and fabric that I don't usually craft with for this piece, velvet. I used an iron and Diana, one of the women from the Melange Women Stamp Set, and embossed the image onto a piece of velvet!

I'd love to take credit for this idea, but I found the tutorial for this technique in the book Rubber Stamping For The First Time by Carol Scheffler. If you'd like to try embossing velvet, lay a stamp, rubber side up, on an ironing board. Place the velvet, nap side down, over the stamp, lightly mist the back of the fabric with water and press the iron, set to the "wool" setting, onto the fabric for about 20 seconds.

I used the Banner Day Clear Stamp Set and a piece of patterned vellum to create my cherish banner.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some love! The next stop on the hop is Norma's Blog.

Here is the complete hop lineup in case you get lost along the way:
