Happy Friday and welcome to the "We're Going Retro" Paper Wings Productions
Design Team Blog Hop and Giveaway! If you have arrived here from Lori's Blog you are
in the right place. If you are visiting my blog today for another
reason, and would like a chance to win some fabulous stamps, click here to start the hop from the beginning.
This month we’re packing up our PWP stamp sets and traveling back in time to bring you some “Retro” inspiration. We’re also giving away a gift certificate to the Paper Wings Production’s online store to one lucky follower.
For a chance to win, become a follower of the Paper Wings Productions Blog, visit each of the design team member's blogs, including our guest designer, and leave a little love. Then, go back to The Aviary and leave a comment letting us know you completed the hop. For extra chances to win, "like" the Paper Wings Productions facebook page and/or invite your friends to the hop. Make sure to leave another comment at The Aviary letting us know about your additional entries. The lucky winner will be announced on Tuesday, April 9th, on the Paper Wings Productions blog.
I had a lot of fun with the Retro theme! I started by tie-dying a piece of muslin with mists. Once it was dry, I covered a shipping tag with the dyed fabric and trimmed and inked the edges.
One of my favorite PWP Stamp Sets is the Earth and Sky Set with the gorgeous sun. I embossed the sun onto my tag and added some "rays" with the Flourish Fun 2 Clear Stamp Set.
No sky scene is complete without a bird. I chose one from the Bird Melange Cling Stamp Set. I added the text, some lyrics from The Beatles' song Here Comes the Sun, with the Perfect Alphabet Clear Stamp Set. You may be wondering what makes this alphabet set perfect. It's perfect for me because it is a crisp clear font that is pleasing to the eye, but the set also includes both uppercase and lowercase case letters, numbers, symbols and punctuation. There are at least two stamps of each letter. The more commonly used letters have 5 stamps! This means that stamping out sentences is fast and fun!
I finished my tag with some ribbon and lace. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment! I hope my tag has you feeling groovy! The next stop on the hop is the fabulous Norma.
Here's the order of the blogs in the hop in case you get lost along the way:
Supplies: Tag: Avery; Stamps: Paper Wings Productions; Lace: Prima; Ribbon: CropStop; Embossing Powder: American Crafts; Ink: Ranger, Tsukineko; Mist: Creative Imaginations; Song Lyrics: The Beatles
