I love flowers but can't seem to ever keep them alive. I created these flowers, leaves and stems from metal, foil, fabric and my Paper Wings Productions Stamps so they should be around for awhile!

I started my flower petals with an empty coffee bag, my favorite foil for all my craft projects, the stained glass window stamp from the Royal Melange Cling Stamp Set and some black StazOn ink. Once my stamped flowers were dry I added color to the petals with alcohol ink and then cut them out. I grouped two layers of petals for each bloom and added a small light bulb for the flower centers.

To create the leaves I stamped several images from the Art Textures Cling Stamp Set onto a piece of muslin. I then formed leaf shapes out of wire. I glued the fabric to the metal leaf frames and cut away the excess fabric.

I cut several strands of wire to form the stem and held them together with thorns that I made by twisting small pieces of wire around the stem. Cue Bret Michaels, LOL! I added a sentiment from the Handmade Clear Stamp Set.

The next stop on the hop is the fabulous Shay.

Here's the order of the blogs in the hop in case you get lost along the way:

  11. Dana, coolest flowers ever! I adore the mixture of materials. I too am a coffee bag foil fan. You should also try separating the lining of Pepperidge Farms cookie or goldfish bags. You end up with a diamond patterned mylar foil and a cool diamond vellum like paper.
