I created a set of 4 mini canvases with the August Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit. Once again, one of the clip art images caught my eye. I happened to have a set of mini canvases on my desk that was the perfect backdrop for the photo of the 4 women! I carefully cut out each woman and created a canvas for each of them.

I cut and tore pieces from the patterned envelopes and wrapping paper that was included in the kit and randomly glued them to my canvases that were primed with a light coat of gesso. I then added small pieces of lace and some background stamping with the Circles Background Cling Stamp to each canvas. I used the Mr. Huey's Chevron Stencil with some molding paste to add some texture to my canvases, and once that way dry, used the dropper from the kit to drip ink and watered-down red paint onto each canvas. I adhered each woman to the canvases with adhesive foam and then finished each piece with a small strip of adhesive pearls and some Tim Holtz Rub-Ons.

Here's a close-up of one of the backgrounds. I love the mix of patterns and textured supplies that came in this kit! It made building my canvases a breeze!

The next stop on the hop is Irit!
