I had a blast creating this countdown to Halloween calendar for my girls. I started with a piece of Countdown patterned paper from the Glitz Design Raven Collection. I added some decorative stamping to the top and bottom edges of this paper with the Halloween Is Here Cling Stamp Set and the Build A Shrine Cling Stamp Set. I added some bright orange lace trim to the bottom edge of the paper.
I am hanging this calendar on my fridge, so I made a set of festive magnets to help mark the day. These glass gem magnets come together quick and easy with a couple simple steps.
Step One: Stamp several designs onto a piece of white cardstock. Note: I used the Large Katrina Cling Stamp (Skeleton), the Halloween Mix It Up Clear Stamp Set (Spider Web, Spider, Witch Hat) and the Hanging Stars Clear Stamp Set.
Step Two: Cover each image with a small drop of Glossy Accents, or other clear glaze, and press a glass gem onto the image. Let dry.
Step Three: Cut the excess cardstock from around each gem. Flip gem over, add a small drop of Glossy Accents to the center and press a magnet into the glaze. Let dry and enjoy!
The fun detailed I added along the top edge of the patterned paper with the Halloween Is Here Cling Stamp Set is visible here. The owls and ghosts are spooktacular! The Halloween Mix It Up Clear Stamp Set contains several sentiments. I added some randomly to the patterned squares on the paper.
I dyed a piece of muslin with Mister Huey's Sunset Mist and Tsukineko Walnut Ink Crystals. Once the fabric was dry, I stamped on a creepy, crawly spider pattern with the spider stamp from the Halloween Mix It Up Clear Stamp Set. I added eyelets to the top corners of the patterned paper and used twine to help attach this fabric to the calendar for hanging.
The next stop on the hop is Erica!
