Thanksgiving Party Crackers Tutorial - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing a project that is quick and easy to put together -- festive party crackers -- for Quick Quotes today. I'm using this set for my Thanksgiving dinner party, but these fun favors are great for any special occasion, and with the extensive line of Quick Quotes patterned papers, easy to personalize to suit any need! The high quality of Quick Quotes paper makes it ideal for off-the-page projects like this. The double-sided designs ensure that both the outside and the inside of this packaging looks fantastic!

Step One: Cut the party cracker template from a piece of cardstock or thin cardboard. Trace around the template onto a piece of patterned paper. Three party crackers can be cut from one piece of 12x12 patterned paper.

Step Two: Cut the party cracker from the patterned paper.

Step Three: Using a craft knife, cut the slits into the patterned paper, down the right side of the cracker, that will hold the tabs on the left side of the paper.

Step Four: Fold the top edge of the patterned paper down to cover the middle segment of the cracker. Hint: The tabs on the left hand side of the cracker should line up. Using scissors, cut small triangles from the folded top edge of the cracker. Note: Cutting pieces of paper from between the cracker segments will allow the cracker to seal in the prize contents in a pleasing way that does not wrinkle the patterned paper.

Step Five: Fold the bottom edge of the patterned paper up to cover the middle segment of the cracker. Hint: The tabs on the left hand side of the cracker should line up. Using scissors, cut small triangles from the folded bottom edge of the cracker.

Step Six: Roll the paper to create a tube, inserting the tabs through the slits. Tuck a prize into the middle of the cracker. Cut two pieces of ribbon measuring 16-inches and tie the two ends of the cracker shut.
