Bokeh Canvas Tutorial for Kids - Canvas Corp

Hi! I'm sharing a project tutorial that I created for Canvas Corp today. The Creative Crew was challenged to share project ideas that kids can create. I adapted this project idea from a project that I found on the Fiskars blog. Creating colorful bokeh patterned canvases is fun and easy with Canvas Corp Tissuestock and Canvases and Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist! Simply color Tissuestock with your favorite colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to create custom specialty tissue that bleeds when spritzed with water. Then, simply apply the colored tissue to wet canvas to create vibrant, shimmery works of art that any parent would be proud to display.

Materials:
1. 5x7 Chunky Stretched Canvas
2. 12x12 White Tissuestock
3. Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: Bahama Blue, Black Cherry, Black Magic, Fully Purple, Marmalade, Patina, Riptide, Sea Glass, Sun Sisters, Trunk Bay, Turquoise Blue

Tools:
1. Circle Punch
2. Water
 

Step 1: Place a piece of 12x12 White Tissuestock onto a craft mat and sprtiz with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. Pick a color palette that expresses who you are. Don't be afraid to let the pools of color blend together!

Step 2: Have a parent help dry the misted Tissuestock with a heat gun. Use a circle punch to cut the Tissuestock into circles.

Step 3: Prepare the canvas to absorb color by misting liberally with water. Have fun placing the Tissuestock circles onto the wet canvas.

Step 4: Once the canvas is covered, mist again with water. Let sit for 30 minutes.

Step 5: Remove the Tissue stock from the canvas. Save the tissue circles for another project!

Step 6: Set aside the canvases to dry overnight.
