Hi! I created this canvas for St. Patrick's Day using some of my favorite products from Canvas Corp Brands. My St. Patrick's Day celebrating usually starts and ends in the kitchen with the preparation of corned beef and roasted vegetables, shortbread cookies, soda bread, and my absolute favorite Irish car bomb cake. I thought it was about time to create a piece of art to help celebrate the holiday.

Tools:
Pencil, Ruler, Scissors, Paintbrush, Heart Dies, Die-Cut Machine, Hot Glue Gun
Step One: Use a ruler and a pencil to outline a repeating 1-inch square border around the edge of the canvas. Prepare the canvas for maximum color absorption by running a wet paintbrush around the edge of the canvas. Paint the squares in a ROYGBIV pattern using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. Apply more water to help with color blending as needed. Let dry.
Step Two: Prepare the center of the canvas for maximum color absorption by running a wet paintbrush over the canvas area. Apply blue Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Glam with a paintbrush. Apply more water to help with color blending as needed. Let dry.
Step Three: Paint a frame between the rainbow and solid blue portions of the canvas using Tattered Angels Decor + DIY Paint. Let dry.
Step Four: To create a basket for the shamrocks cut the top portion of an old straw hat in half and attach it to the bottom portion of the canvas using a hot glue gun. Note: Half of a straw basket would also work here!
Step Five: Use a set of heart dies and a die-cutting machine to cut hearts from green burlap, green ticking fabricsheet, and green patterned papers. Use a hot glue gun to glue 3 heart shapes together to form a shamrock. Use scissors to cut shamrocks from a piece of Good Luck on Ivory patterned paper. Optional: Cut one heart from an orange ticking fabricsheet to embellish the front of the basket.
Step Six: Attach the shamrocks to the top portion of the canvas with hot glue.
Step Seven: Embellish the basket with a die-cut fabric heart, hemp bow, and metal heart charm.
