On The List Scrapbook Layout - More Than Words Challenges

Collage Style Scrapbook Layout Documenting The 52 Lists Journal Journey

Hi! I created this layout for the More Than Words January 2021 Main Challenge BEGINNINGS and WASHI. Sometimes new BEGINNINGS mean beginning again...and again. I started my 52 Lists Projects Journal in 2016 and have 8 lists complete. Finally finishing this writing is on my list of goals this year. I incorporated WASHI into my collage style design in colors and prints that mirrored other elements on the page.

I cut most of the page elements for this layout from a couple different issues of Flow Magazine's Book for Paper Lovers. There are all sorts of wonderful prints and embellishments to be found inside these publications.

Some simple doodles and this super cute piece of monkey flair were all the embellishments I needed around my photo. I started this journal in the year of the monkey, so it seemed fitting to add one to this page. It also serves as a reminder to not monkey around and actually finish these lists. Being an introvert, I prefer to keep my thoughts inside my head, where nobody can read them, but that is not the purpose of this journal. I really want to have something my kids could read when I'm gone.

I added brightly colored piece of washi tape around the page. This foam title adds texture and dimension.

What does the word BEGINNINGS inspire you to create? Is there a new baby in the family, a new job opportunity, or a wedding to attend. Perhaps you have a New Year resolution you want to record. Maybe you're beginning a new, healthier lifestyle. Whatever is is, we'd love to see your artful expression on a layout, canvas, or off-the-page-project. For a fun touch, finish your project with some WASHI or any other tape. Share your work via the linky tool on the More Than Words Challenges Blog before the end of the month for a chance to win a prize from one of our amazing sponsors.

Due to the many Covid-related postage issues we had last year, MTW is running the prize-giving in a different way. We are now dividing prizes up into regions so some sponsors only need to post within their own regions. The regions are: Australia and New Zealand, Europe, USA, and The Rest of the World. For my fellow US residents, this means you are competing for prizes from a much smaller pool of artists!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: 7gypsies, Cosmo Cricket, Flow Magazine Book For Paper Lovers; Letters Stickers: American Crafts; Washi Tape: Studio Calico; Flair: Pretty Little Studio; Pen: Sharpie; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

  1. I love making lists too. I haven't tried the 52 lists project officially but I'm sure I've probably made at least that many in a year lol and even completed some! I also love Flow! I am lucky enough that one of my friends in NL sends them to me quite often, but I really hate cutting them up even though that's their whole purpose. Love your washi, love the font on the "on the list" chipboards and love your DT inspiration layout overall. Elle xx

    1. Thanks so much Elle! I also have a hard time cutting up my Flow magazines. I guess that should be another goal of mine. It's great that you have a friend to send you issues! Thanks for stopping by!

    2. It is difficult though lol. She often sends me another magazine published there called Happinez. She sent that one to me for Xmas.
