Hi! I'm sharing a set of unholiday cards that I created for Clique International today. I created this set of 12 cards using the amazing Goddesses of the Zodiac Modern Documenter Kit, which includes a set of 24 3x4 pocket cards, 2 cards of each zodiac goddess, with original artwork in collaboration with Scarlet Bouthiette. Each goddess of the zodiac is depicted in a periwinkle galaxy and features aspects representing many different cultures from ancient mythologies. I kept the design of this card simple, but interesting, with a double z fold design. Once I decided on the design, I was able to create 12 cards in a couple of hours. In addition to the Goddesses Kit, I also used the 10th Anniversary Clique Chromatics Kit, which coordinates perfectly with the color palette of the zodiac cards and cut-apart sentiment tags from the Paper Rose Studios Rainbow Poppies Sampler Kit.
If you'd like to make a z fold card, cut a card base from cardstock to measure 4 1/4 x 11 inches and then score at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches (Teal cardstock in the photo above). Next, cut a second color of cardstock to measure 3 1/2 x 10 inches and score at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches (Purple cardstock in the photo above). Finally, cut two patterned paper and/or cardstock panels to measure 2 1/2 x 3 inches (Polka Dot and White Cardstock in the photo above). Secure the top edge of the longer purple cardstock fold to the smaller fold of the teal cardstock. Secure the smaller purple cardstock fold to the larger teal cardstock fold. Folding the card front down as if you are closing it and lining up the bottom purple fold over the bottom teal base will ensure that the card is properly lined up to close flat. When flat, the card measures a standard 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches.
The Goddesses of the Zodiac Kit includes 6 full size spa series ink pads from Catherine Pooler and the 10th Anniversary Kit includes a periwinkle pen. These products help take the guess work out of finding that perfect shade of ink to stamp or write a personal message on the inside of each card. Gia thinks of everything!
